"Lots of captains in the Rovers team this year..." - One gets sent off for punching an opposition player in the back of the head as he ran past. - Another gives away a last minute penalty to lose the game (admittedly I've not seen this incident, the i-Follow feed someone was showing on facebook had stopped). Barton may have saved the second Captain from a red too by sound of it. |

There was a tussle between Hughes and Hawkins in the penalty area in the first half which the ref ignored. The ref decided not to ignore a tussle in the second half injury time. Awful refereeing, absolutely dreadful. The result isn’t Barton’s fault, the referee has had an absolute shocker. But we expect that, in this league. We have had enough experience of it |

We have had enough experience of it Aside from the ref, we didn’t really have that many attempts on target or off target. Westbrook continued his reluctance to tackle. The wingers looked good in spells. With Nicholson, Rodman, Pittman, Hanlan and Collins to come back I think we’d eat Mansfield if we had a near strength team. Ollie Clarke played well, should have scored in the first half. |

Sounded an eventful game. Frustrating! It was clearly a tough opener. We'll improve,feeling quite confident. I think there is hope for this season. Pundits like our signings, bookies reckon we end up top 3. We played a back 4 today, conceded a corner leaving 2 up, and that is a positive, the sort of take it to opponents game after game you need to force your way into promotion. Sounds like Hughes is quality, despite penalty and going to ref on final whistle. Those in ground, mark out of ten for Hughe’s overall? Sounds like our defence is better than last season. 5 of next six matches are against sides tipped for relegation, so here is opportunity to demonstrate our quality going forward and scoring goals now and justify our tag. Bring on these next 6 league fixtures and show what we got. |

Those at ground, anyone in away end boo their own manager in wall of boo as he appeared? One of the facebook groups had a video posted before the game of fans singing: "Joey Barton's blue and white army". A few of photos on facebook, en route to Mansfield, of Rovers flags with Barton pictures on. One: "In Barton We Trust". Another: St. George's Cross with JB bottom right. And a third: St. George's Cross with "BARTON-HILL" across the red horizontal / Union Jack top left quarter (nice to see) / "Banjo Gas" bottom left quarter / picture of JB and "Huyton Hitman" bottom right quarter / and "Light the cigars" top right quarters (bit unfortunate, knowing a previous JB incident). |

Why do we need c? Too many letters. And magic E? It’s Mik, you my say mick, add magic E and have Mike. But why not just put accent symbol above i rather than clunking E on the end? Phonetically it’s My Key. And I before E except after C - WITH A BILLION EXCEPTIONS. Apart sounding like invented by wurzles, what’s the point of rule with so many exceptions? |
