Some of you won't want to hear this.
Crowd and players fully behind Joey after committed performance.
Word of the day. Jubilant.
Sorry....

I logged in specially to 👍 that. Nail on head. Once he’s gone I’m still going to be uneasy that they did *this* and then wallowed in it, but I’ll maybe cross that bridge when we get to it.

However, it's the players that many of us are behind, not the current manager Barton out! That's the thing isn't it. A huge % of supporters have zero interest in club politics and just want to watch a game, preferably with friends, maybe have a drink, it's a recreational and social pass time. I'm convinced that the overwhelming majority of Rovers' supporters, if they were aware of who and what Barton is, would want no part of supporting him in any way, shape or form.

I was afraid this would happen.
We win 2 games we're not supposed to and are finally looking like turning it round which is down to Barton
But we are still complaining
Entitled to opinion blah blah blah
Careful what you wish for

Just got back...
Well, well, well... sometimes it feels right, and today, the structure and set up, the balance and tempo felt right. From the start.
Everyone contributed (except I struggled to see what Coutts brought to the game) in a performance to be proud of and a win against higher placed opponents that definitely came with an agenda.
Belshaw made a crucial save from a poor backpass from Alfie (?) Not quite sure, 1 on 1 and that set the style and standards for next 98 mins....
Connor has a torrid time, the big centre forward gave him a difficult day....he was deemed culpable conceding the penalty....many thought the ref was harsh giving it, but tbh I think we can't complain, you can't take out the standing leg of opposition (back to goal) in the box without offering the ref to consider a pen and if it was other way round, we'd all be shouting.
MOM correctly given to Josh Grant....a brilliant display of left wing back play not seen since Leahy and unlucky not to get a second with his shot rebounding off lost.
But my joint MOM was Anderson.... just never gave up, what an engine. 2 assists because his persistence played off for Evans goal, and sublime cross deep for Grant finish. He was past his man and in too before being fouled which resulted in bookings (confusingly, for us too!?). And his threat was ever present.
Nicholson and Evans ran solid. Nicholson especially, he chased everything.
But for me, the main noticeable tactic was to push on from the front. We were hassling them throughout and pushing wing backs on to make a 5 attacking or forward enough to be considered a threat .....and why? Well, for me.....we continued to keep 2 up front. Nicholson and Evans. Even after the sending off. Even when Luke Thomas came on. The key is playing 2 natural offence players higher up the line. It didn't work all the time, as obviously Nicholson/Evans aren't naturally playing off the shoulder of the last defender, so we were caught offside a lot in first half, but the premise was there and we were very pro active in our approach and play.
Well done JAB and management team - it worked well - and morally won the battle against time wasting first half (the ref had to tell their keeps), gamesmanship of number 17 and others, giving us a thoroughly deserved 3 points and a strong performance to be proud of.
More of the same next week v Trannies please as they lost today and keeping as many fit is surely a priority...?
Enjoy your Sunday lunches Gas, this weekend is a good one to be a GasHead!

I wish for him to be erased from the club, not too much to ask if our owner wasn’t such a chocolate teapot.

That was a great Rovers performance. Name any of the team and I'll tell you they had a good game.We played at a good tempo, our fitness is excellent ,we pass well and sometimes one touch,we caused Cobblers plenty of problems, determined to win possession, our forwards worked even harder after Whelans red.Etc.
This team has spirit, fighting spirit. The best since a determined Coughlan team.
In my opinion the season just turned and very much for the better!
Come on Rovers!

Never a penalty. Tangle on a player nowhere near the ball. Rovers much the better side in good performance, the only team with a cutting edge, Northampton done nothing to deserve a lead. Apart from score a goal.😂 Goals change games as somebody once said. Quite right too PHE! Come on Rovers!

Just got back from the game.
Wow, what an afternoon! I so needed that! :-)
I felt we were the better team throughout the game, and thoroughly deserved to win.
Josh Grant was superb, fully deserved his goal and man of the match. Dangerous on the left side of the park, full of energy and creativity.
Connor Taylor was magnificent at the back as always. Fantastic goal-line clearance to seal the three points right at the death. He was unfortunate with the penalty, looked soft from the South West stand.
James Belshaw with his usual excellent performance in goal.
Sam Nicholson ran his socks off.
Glenn Whelen had a good game, what excellent distribution he has. Superb balls out to Grant. Felt his sending off was a bit harsh, was a wild sliding tackle though.
This was a superb team performance, you could really see the hunger and desire out there.
Finally, it was so good to hear The Mem loud again today, the atmosphere was rocking.
Like I said, I so, so needed that!
UTG.
