Well done Rovers, massive 3 away points today. Att: 2,614 Oxford & Exeter next up both away. Exeter, away ? We got hammered at their place already The Exeter game doesn’t count. nor the Oxford one really, neither of them are for league points. When we were doing okay in League 1 FA Cup against someone disappointing in League 2, it was seldom comfortable for us, and that’s what I expect tomorrow week us to make it uncomfortable for them. But the danger is getting 1.2 win next week and all buzz comes from that, going on to take only 4 points from the leagues 15? Northampton home. They are lying third. Tranmere home. Lost at lowly Mansfield today. Salford away. With their investment and ambition should be doing better. As much as I didn’t fancy the Newport fixture, and did fancy us today, I don’t fancy this Salford away. Forest Green away. They are top, but it would be painful for us being beaten by them. Port Vale Home. They are flying, score plenty of goals.

I say stick with Joe. Separate his court stuff from his job at Rovers. Salute the rank, not the man. Give Joe another year and the power to remove people not singing from the same sheet. Watch us get promoted this or next season. Bas, I admire the way you stick to your ideas about JB and you do it with good grace. You’d be a good man to have alongside when it gets tough so good for you. 👏 But even if we separate the court stuff from the football stuff he’s on borrowed time on the football stuff alone. It was a good win today, perhaps one of the best of his time and you’re right, we are putting a few results together. But we’ve had some horrors this season and a good result at Harrogate doesn’t change all of that. I’m glad we put in a good performance but that doesn’t excuse the woeful tactics and poor substitutions already this season. The other stuff, well, I’m not sure WAQ worries about it, or even if the club are aware of it (that’s a joke I’m sure they are but after last week....) There has been reputational damage as others have said but nothing I say will change anything and we’ll just have to let the justice system do their stuff. I don’t worry what fans on other forums think, they’re hardly an accurate measure of what people think JB has always divided opinion and I wouldn’t expect other clubs’ fans to say anything good about him or about us whilst he manages us. They haven’t before, they won’t now. But after today, well done to the team and JB for a well deserved win. A much needed 3 points for BRFC. String a run of 3 or 4 more just like that and we’ll be looking at the top rather than the bottom. And then you may get your way but I remember what WAQ said when this second court case was announced, guilty and he’ll be gone. UTG! The silence from the board this week has been uncanny. Something just isn’t adding up. The only way I can explain it, is Wael in talks to sell up, possibly to a group closer to where he lives than to the mem?

He then managed us to the bottom of the division above, where many of the players he kicked out still play. Then over the summer and into September, he told anyone that was daft enough to be taken in by his crap, that we would be promoted this season. You want to give the bellend another season? Right. Barton out. Yes.More time,a year. That would see us with a decent team.

Is a Joey Barton linked consortium about to buy Bristol Rovers? The last few weeks things have not been taking a predictable shape for football in modern era. The clubs silence this week was odd.

We have had our ups and downs this season, but there is some evidence we maybe on a slow trajectory upwards.Time.Joe needs time. Away from home 4 unbeaten. Yes we need to add a few good home and aways to this and then - especially then - Gasheads will see visible evidence. I think within our improvement there will still be some defeats that could of been draws and draws that could of been wins and days when we were beaten fair and square by the better team.Players having good, bad and average games. Then eventually we'll notice a little consistency in players performance reflecting in better results. It'sa gradual process. Gradual. Time.It will need time and that's why Joe or any Rovers manager (unless it really is bloody awful ) ,should be given a fair crack of the whip. I think there is enough good signs amongst the challenges Joe faces,to see him succeed.Given time.

The Rovers goal today.
Provider and scorer both came off the bench.
Nice for the Manager, who still enjoys support from plenty of Gasheads.

Yes, people don't like JB - however, that is him, not Rovers. When he moves on, people won't be saying "I hate Bristol Rovers, they had that Joey Barton as their manager 5 years ago" - hence it cannot be compared to the dislike which people have for Millwall fans, which tends to be permanent. We may not like to admit it, but we're a bit of a non-entity as far as fans of other clubs go. We are tainted and our reputation is damaged by association. My instinct is that he's not going to be convicted in either of the scheduled court cases, but there will be a lot of media attention either way, and mud sticks. Then if he is convicted there's more reputational damage. Why on earth is this being allowed to happen to our club? Strange times, that's for sure.

Unbeaten in 4 away games. Signs of improvement. It was an away game. If we'd have replaced our injured striker with a central defender early on at home we'd have lost as usual.

Quote from Gas Chat. "...but we pull off probably our best win since Ipswich away under GC." This just goes to show how far we have fallen if we are comparing Harrogate to Ipswich. Barton out! Hard to believe someone would think that let alone write it, was shopping the Kingswood today and met a lot of people who would normally be away, with the rovers. Not surprised but just made me realise just how bad things have got It was a sell out for Rovers fans though KP. Plenty weren't quick enough to get tickets, or realise there would be a restriction.
Not bad for a 440 mile round trip.

We've done this any number of times and I've posted links to the reaction of other clubs' supporters to Barton. I'd have to disagree with that Bath. I've lived in London for 35 years, up until February pretty permanently wearing the blue & white quarters (out of work hours). I can't remember any trouble or negativity aimed at me. It's always been along the lines of "we don't like that other lot in Bristol, but Rovers always come across as a decent Club, make a lot of noise away from home". We were generally well known and well liked. Since February that's changed. Every conversation is about Barton and what possessed us to appoint him as manager. I'm not saying anyone now "hates" us. But the perception has changed. It's all about Barton and his criminal history and the two upcoming Court cases for violence. The conversation isn't about football, or Gasheads, it's about Barton. He is a stain on our Club. I would say the reputational damage caused by his appointment and his subsequent behaviour has been significant. Once we are rid of the scouse gobs**te, I hope people can quickly forget the "Barton era" and move on. I have no idea how long it will take for that awful smell to go away. Just for the record (yeah, needle stuck) I'm not a fan.

What I was trying to say, in response to TWD, is that we will not end up like Millwall, being fairly universally disliked, due to JB being in the dugout for a short period of time. We will no longer be a topic of interest once he has gone.
