Looking forward to the post match interview and acknowledgement that we lack fire power at the top end. I wonder if Tommy can pull a rabbit out the hat? I don't think that's not fair. I thought Daly/Hanlan/Ayunga were a real handful. We really should have gone in 1 if not 2 up after 45mins. Gills made 3 subs at HT just to try and change the shape of the game. We were still on top. Just one piece of idiotic defending and the slowest striker in League 1 walks through our flat footed defence. Baldwin had an absolute shocker. Partly responsible for the 1st goal. Gave away a stupid penalty. Fell over the ball and let it run out of play more than once. Mindless balls pumped up the middle. Managed to get himself booked where there was no danger whatsoever. Could have redeemed himself, but with a free header 5 yards out - couldn't hit the target. I'm beginning to think Jonny Burn isn't the worst CB we ever signed from Sunderland. This was not a bad performance. Fair points but TW has soaked up the glory and passed the buck when it suited so he has to take the bad parts of it too and today the strikers were not good enough, simple. And he was the one who had a hand in bringing these defenders who can’t defend to the club and not only that backed them vociferously despite two managers losing their job because those players cost the managers points. I’m still backing him as manager but it will be good to hear a humbled TW today who has seen the reality- that we have a lot of work to do and these players are not as good as he thinks and will need a lot of work and coaching, especially defensively.

But what in my view is plain to see is that they don’t score goals. That situation wasn’t addressed and the Geordie Mourinho seems to think doesn’t need to be. Maybe they will and prove myself and others wrong

Remember the Mauge sending off. Seem to recall it was down to playacting by Hessenthaler. Blimey, I did remember it correctly!

Blimey, I did remember it correctly! I think his reputation went before him there. I really liked Ronnie. What might have been if he hadn’t broken his leg on international duty?

Hessenthaler was on the shortlist before Trolls and Lennie got the nod.

Same old same old.... we are utterly appalling in both boxes. Other teams are far more experienced and street wise. Tommy not appearing to be playing with any tactic today other than lump it long. Unless we wise up in both boxes fast we will go down. No idea where the club go and don’t think they have any idea / plan either. I very much disagree with this post. If you are going solely on result yes, but the performance was there today. if they keep putting performance in like that the coming games, points will come.

Tuesday still looks more of a blip than a trend

I watched TW on twitter. Appears to have trouble with his teeth.

We are terrible in both boxes and have been all season. Make a large number of defensive errors and miss a large number of chances. We were probably the better side today yet Gillingham beat us by two goals and missed a pen.... simply because they do the basics better than us, the only point for debate is about whether the club have a plan and whether TW played long ball. The rest is plain to see, the result today and league table show is where we are.

I just said what I saw and have seen for most of the season.... there are plenty of opportunities to have a pop at the pair of them but this wasn’t one of them!

No pops at Wael from me, I’m right behind him. The sole target of my ire is Widdrington.

I watched TW on twitter. Appears to have trouble with his teeth. Looks like he’s just come in from a night at the Hacienda. Loving the insistence that we were better today than we were at home against Gillingham and that we were the only team who controlled periods of the game , sounded a bit like Garner trying to insist we were the better team despite losing by more than 1 score. Defeat has obviously dented his hubris somewhat. That being said as much as I don’t like the way he goes about things I’d rather not chop and change and hope he’sIn charge for the remainder of the season and he keeps us up.

The rest is plain to see, the result today and league table show is where we are. Exactly what Tisdale said for the last month or so. I'll paraphrase because I can't remember his exact words, but they were along the lines of him not being able to do any more than explain basics to the players and then see them go out and do those simple things wrong, game after game.
