Good scoreline - not so happy with the performance though.
There's shape and structure going forward which has been lacking for most of this season and is good to see. But defensively we look very soft. I think Blackpool were extremely wasteful from a large number of very promising positions and looked menacing everytime they entered the final 3rd. Far too much space in and around our area, far too much room outwide to get crosses in. We need to tighten this up or play a lot more on the front foot. It looks like we are too deep and too narrow and we're not being strong enough.
Took our goals well, looked decent when moving through midfield again but we have looked like 'away' team and not a solid defensive one at that. I will be very pleased if we take 3 points from here.

HT 2-1 Good come back - two very well taken goals which earlier in the season both chances would have been snatched at and missed. Blackpool very good team so second half should be quality and its anyones game - cum on Gas!

decent game, and a visually-pleasing combination of kits to watch
2-1 HT scoreline flatters Rovers, but two fine finishes from our front two
Blackpool looks a good side, and bossed the first 25 minutes. Rovers started to play and scored twice in two minutes. Blimey!
loads still to play for. Messi not looking at his best to me, but Hanlan and Nicholson both look like they might have another goal in them. McCormac some howlers and some really good play in attack and defence
Upson looking like the brains, or our nearest thing to it
our back 4 about as watertight as a Nick Higgs contract

I think we are playing well. It’s a team sheet with more first touch and creativity than last time out. Hardon didn’t play back to goal till we were ahead, we hitting long palls for hardon and Nichols to chase. That changed when we went ahead. |
