Thread opener, the game "just hours away".That was about 50 hours before kick off then.😏I mean we could measure the time it takes to get man on Mars in hours too! Anyway,I mistook it for meaning the game was tonight.Etc.. I managed to get a couple of other things wrong today too.Hopefully that's 3 cock ups out of the way now.😊 only 1 day 17 hours and 36 minutes till blast off! Haha! 😏 Yeh,only 41 hours to go!

I won't be able to listen anyway. Maybe you can report back after and say if it was on or not, just to tie up the loose ends It is on Anne. Before I realised my misunderstanding I paid £10 for I follow coverage.I would'nt of bothered if I had been switched on.So I can offer a report on that coverage. I'm glad it's on - had me worried for a bit that their recent budget cuts were going to affect sports coverage. That would be bad news.

Ed Hadwin and Keith Brookman are the BBC commentary team at Ipswich on Saturday.
Can anyone remember another Rovers league cup tie played on a Saturday

Can anyone remember another Rovers league cup tie played on a Saturday Yes, referencing the excellent "Bristol Rovers FC: A Complete Record 1883-1987", I can see the details are on page 192. In front of a crowd of 4,702, Rovers drew 1-1 at Exeter on Saturday 9th August 1980. Chic Bates scored for Rovers. Three days later, in the second-leg at Eastville, Rovers went through on penalties after another 1-1 draw (Rovers' goal again from Bates). Then the Eastville fire. Rovers beat York in Round two before going out to Pompey. The "home" legs of both those ties were played at Ashton Gate. I saw both games against Exeter. The Rovers game was played on Saturday evening, which allowed us to go to Torquay for their afternoon match against Cardiff. On the way back from Plainmoor, we stopped for something to eat and had a word with the great Bobby Campbell, who had been Rovers' manager two years earlier.

Thanks for the memories I too saw both Exeter ties and the two games at BS3. How the years have slipped by interesting times.

Ed Hadwin and Keith Brookman are the BBC commentary team at Ipswich on Saturday. Can anyone remember another Rovers league cup tie played on a Saturday No, but I think it could catch on as the season's opener by attracting a decent crowd thirsting for some real action after the summer break and raising fitness levels for the coming league opener. Friendlies never really do that.

Yup - should be £10 or 8 Euros depending on what country you are 'resident' in... According to the web-site - NOT available to non-UK residents. But of course there are 'ways'.

Commentator says different shapes fighting for dominance. Rovers trying to pack the middle and play tippy-tappy
