I didn't clock that Lee Jones is Tranmere's goal-keeping coach. Lee Jones only officially retired in 2018 since he was also registered as a player whilst goal keeping coach Morecambe. I see Alexis-Andre is playing for Folkestone Invicta whilst pursuing his social media career in Tick Tock.

Just thought again about the game. Anthony Evans is mighty good for division 4, isn't he? Different class to anyone else on the pitch.

You might be thinking of Anderson on the first Tranmere goal. He lost out at the back post to the scorer. Some were saying a foul was committed. I've watched the highlights think it was fine. The player handed him off at worse, and was just stronger in the challenge. I didn't see Alfie struggling - thought he had a good game. Thanks, concept it was difficult to see where I was, and on highlights it was indeed Anderson. The foul thing was touted in real time too ... On reflection I think it's a valid goal. Actually, that gaslights me..... he's not at best a rwb/rb, and I hope this is looked at moving forward... Haha!We disagree again o2o2bo2ba,i like him at rwb/RBS.Great going forward. As yesterday shows - not his best game - lessons to be learnt. I think he could stay rwb. I assume other rwb players are on our injury list.Rodders has played it eg.I don't know who our definite first choice is? Jock from Twerton fame started as a rw.Kieth Curle too.

I hope he'll be with Rovers in the 3rd tier next season DrF! I certainly enjoy his style. His corners and fee kicks are excellent. He runs at the opposition can beat a player and he gets stuck in to win the ball. 3rd tier quality, maybe 2nd. Beginning to think that the manager's claim that we'd get promoted this season, may have some legs. The likes of Evans, Whelan, Grant, Finley, Nicholson and others are fine players and they seem to have finally gelled. A way to go yet I think before they play and think as a unit. They need to be more consistent, control games, set the pace, pick the right moment, etc. Effort alone won't win you much at the end of the day. I was surprised that they started so gung-ho after a midweek game that went to extra time. That adrenaline inevitably dried up, energy levels dropped and Tranmere took over. The final whistle couldn't come quick enough. Whelan was missed yesterday. He has dominated the middle of the park more and more in recent games like the seasoned campaigner he is. He's calm and collected, and with Coutts doing the spade work it allows us to build from the back. I'd prefer Whelan as captain myself. Good to see Grant playing in his preferred position as wingback. He never really convinced as a deep midfielder and looked very shaky at times.

As the home team we tried to score goals and actually both of them came from dead ball situations, when we're entitled to have plenty of players upfront. Yes,we felt the pace - after the 2 great victories v Cobblers and Ox - but if Sam Nicholsons concentration level had been there,he may well have won the game right at the end. I thought Joe's tactics fine. I agree on Whelan and Coutts.A solid pairing, guiding the team. Yep,Josh Grant looks great in his 'new role'.

Teams don't always play the way their coach dictates, so maybe it wasn't his plan to storm into a 2-goal lead. Tranmere posed a real threat up front and were always going to score the way we were playing second half. They paced their game well over the 90 minutes and the final few minutes were nervy to say the least. I expected Pitman to come on at some point with his hold-up play and ability to notch a goal from nothing. He might not be ready yet though. A draw was a fair result in the end.

Rodman convert was okay....ish but the best of choices at the time. And Grant doesn't seem to ever play well in that position....a liability second half.

A lesson to be learnt hopefully. I blame Belshaws fancy dribbling and footwork, that so far has been great. So far.👍

Conversely, he's very noticeable in attack.... maybe that's just the way it is with regards to noticing defence v attack qualities? I also don't like the messing about with it in and around the box. So, get in defenders that can defend and attack minded players that are quite good at attacking.... crossovers from time to time, but the disaster was always coming, so why play that tactic? Why no Hoole?

Apparently we were slowing the tempo down and timewasting..... also the ref was awful because we should have had a men sent off.
Interesting we all see the same game differently.

Not listened to it but another ref may have seen the Alfie incident differently. He pushed him hard in the chest, no idea why guy was holding head, either acting or whiplash. My money on acting given the way their team behaved then and at other times.

This is the sort of antics we come to expect in 4th division....this is one of the reasons I was so distraught we got relegation last season. I honestly didn't think we time wasted, we had temporary injuries that needed physio attention, one of which resulted in a sub

Good player going forward, but not a wing back in my opinion.

Just saw the highlights on the Rovers YouTube channel and Sammy's miss in the dying minutes looked even more unbelievable than yesterday. How someone of his calibre missed is beyond me.
Still, he had a great game and will be even more motivated when we face Salford.

To be fair to Anderson, his bustling runs down the wing have instigated many of our goals this season. Okay, he did lose possession a few times when defending. But even though Grant had a good game at LWB, when Anderson was substituted, and Grant moved across to the right, he too lost possession and gave away a few stray passes - on one occasion we were luckily they didn't score.

Still, he had a great game and will be even more motivated when we face Salford. Strangely, neither the Sky Sports nor Rovers highlights showed the chance after the one from near the edge of the box, from Finley's draw back, that Nicholson dragged wide The one I mean is when Nicholson and Evans were at the back post, and neither could force it home. It looked simpler to score for both of them. I couldn't believe it when Sammy didn't score, and again a fraction of a second later when Evans couldn't bundle it over the line. I was hoping to see it again, to understand exactly what happened, whether Nic actually got in the way of an easier chance for Evans.

Who is our 'official ' rwb? I think Rodman was touted pre season for this role....but I honestly thought we turned over a stone and found a gem in Hoole? He had 2 very good games starting (Mansfield and Stevenage)?
