Just got back .. The benefits of being so sh!t for ages are you don't get your hopes up and you become the underdog very easily....this is the Rovers way. First of all......big shout out to Billy Bodin. Took his goal well with no celebration. Class. Top man. Second of all..... I'm only going to repeat what I posted Saturday. Third of all.....feelings regarding the manager apart, this team and this paying fanbase are forming a bond that shows signs of strength. Everything regarding hard work, great engine in players, some flare play but hard work is back with the team and squad. Fans pay that back in abundance, and the emotions on the dramatic equaliser were to behold.....the winner, well....I don't think that wrapped up outburst has been seen since the likes of Browner's right foot.... anyone whom was there will remember this night for many a day. The team, the bench, the ball boys, the coaches, the manager, the fans.....tell me we weren't in unison when Spence popped it into an empty net? Pitch invasion ensues ....some of the best times of being a GasHead echoed tonight. After the evisceration of BG, the blandness of PT, this management team are alchemists since Walsall, we have a feeling of what our Rovers is all about.... never give up, we just don't know when we're beat and a resounding win against higher opponents, fairly, says we have our Rovers team back to be proud of... Belshaw my m o m Roll on the Trannies, we have momentum. Think Oxford threw in the towel after we got it back to 3-3. The last goal was abysmal from their point of view.

Think I'll have this on a permanent loop for the next 24 hours. Thanks, Jeff. I`ve watched it half a dozen times already. Gonna stop now, while I get a beer out of the fridge. Then I`ll watch some more.

Got back, took dog around the block and now a quick report.
As it comes to mind.... Wow!A classic! We have a team!A squad!
As I've mentioned- whilst generally swimming against the tide - give Joe more time and he'll deliver!
The youngsters that came on were brilliant. Their 'fresh legs' were just what the doctor ordered. Doctor Finley hit one hell of a tackle in the first half, crunch! Loved Collins equaliser. Big Anderton son, left flank player, love his charging runs. Coutts steady Eddie, absolutely fine. Belshaw excellent. Gasheads loud! Just so very very exciting to watch us - Rovers - make a sensational Cup comeback! Loved it!

I wonder if Matty Taylor loves scoring against us as much as we love beating him? Loser in front of the crowd at the mem again

Just got back.
Wow! Just wow!
I don't have the words to write a match report, I am just so overwhelmed with the emotion of it all.
That match had everything. I don't think anybody in the stadium had anything left in the tank come the end, everything was left on the pitch. The team and us Gasheads gave everything. My throat is going to be so sore tomorrow morning :-)
Oxford battered us for large periods of the game, but we dug deep and hung in there.
The Finley goal looked epic from my view in the South Stand, Finley won the ball just in front of me, passed to Anderson who laid it off for Evans who then crossed for Finley to finish. Beautiful.
I felt we were good value for our 1-0 lead. Then Oxford got a soft penalty, and it was inevitable that Taylor was going to score.
1-1 was a good result for us, seeing as we absorbed a lot of pressure. Evans had what I thought was the winning goal right at the end, but the bulge of the net failed to happen.
At the end of normal time, that was a really good cup tie. I had no idea of the excitement that was to follow.
I honestly thought it was all over when Oxford scored two right at the start of extra time. The whole of the Memorial Stadium felt the same right before Spence scored his first. The ten minutes of quiet crowd instantly changed and the belief came flooding back. The Mem erupted and the tide had turned.
The final twenty minutes of that game were unlike any other I can remember for a long time. Oxford still kept battering us, but we suddenly had an effective counter attack game, and we punished them. First Spence scored the equaliser and then Aaron Collins chose the perfect time to open his goalscoring account for The Gas to win the game, just as penalties were looming.
Every single player on that pitch earned that victory. There was passion, commitment, desire, skill. Everything.
I don't actually remember anything about the extra time goals, I will have to watch the highlights. For me, all I remember is celebrating goals like I have not done since Browner's Left Foot sent us up from this division.
The scenes at the North end looked outstanding. I could see the limbs and the pitch invasion from a distance.
Ok, I did end up writing a match report.
Bring on Sutton United in the second round!
Saturday and Tranmere Rovers cannot come quick enough. It is fun being a Gashead again. It has been far too long...

What have I just witnessed, cant get the head round what just happened. That is whats its all about, all the pain, all the heartache.. and just sometimes, very rarely, something special happens. Tonight was one of those moments and it will live long in the memory.
My God those players give everything, the scenes at the end - the players, management, supporters - very special.
We have found something here.

Think I'll have this on a permanent loop for the next 24 hours. Great to see that and the crowd in raptures, what was the attendance please, anyone ? EDIT great to see long shots from the team. Been ages since i saw any team try them, the modern way is to play it into the goal. itโs great to see attempts from further out, paid dividends too

Thought I'd give last night a miss due to getting up early, the drive across town to get home and low expectations. ๐
That's us through to round 3 then, as I will be out of the country on the next cup day.
What a truly magnificent comeback, great goals, Herculean team ethic and stupendous support from those there. Mint.

I missed the win over Northampton, and attributed the result to the fact that I wasn`t there. Actually being in attendance last night, I naturally assumed we`d lose. But not so. It was all the things you said above. Great night. Here`s tae us....
