I have tickets. My first home game since Sunderland March 2020. We won that! If we could pull off a win, we might get some momentum. Ifs buts and maybes. Its weird but I am actually looking forward to the game.

Got a nasty feeling Ben Garner will have his team lined up just right to beat us. Not only that, he'd be proving a point to all and sundry, especially the current "manager" who was so disparaging in his comments about Ben.
My predictions are usually wide of the mark, so that's a 2-1 win to us then.
UTG and Barton out.

Yep. Agree with DrFaustus.
A real test of the "turned corner". I'm expecting a nasty, niggly game.
Hopefully there will be an electric atmosphere and we won't be 3-0 down after thirty minutes...
I think we will lose 1-0 like last season. At least we have Pitman this time, so I could be wrong!
Hoping for a Gas win as always!

We have played Swindon Town in exactly 100 games, Winning 38, Losing 46 with 16 Draws.
We have won 5-0, 1-5, 3-5, & 0-4, also have lost 5-2, 1-4 x 2, 4-1 x 2, 4-3, & 3-4 x 2.
Swindon's main rivals are Oxford, with less fierce enemies in both Bristol clubs, Reading, Cheltenham & Newport.
Ben Garner and Steve Mildenhall were previous employees of BRFC, with the goalkeeper playing over 100 games.
John Trollope played all his career for Swindon in 889 games spanning 20 seasons, a record never to be beaten IMO.
I smell a 2-1 victory to the Gas to keep our winning run going, come on you blues.

I think there is a good chance we win these next two. They are home. A corner seems to be turned in our performance, now two home games 6 points, will blast us straight into the promotion shake up. Joey should be safe then through the next window till the end of season.
It doesn’t matter who our mangers is, in terms of how much they are getting wrong and how much getting right. There is such depth, quality and experience to our squad, once we turn that corner and on a roll, into that real furnace of the season, slimmer squads who may have started well after pre season will be burned away by us. But as it’s Joey whose put this together, it’s his promotion push, it will be his promotion sparkling on his CV.
Although Joey has clearly signalled, what Ben Garner done to Bristol Rovers put us bottom and relegated, we still got to treat Ben humanely, like he is a human being. Getting behind the team as 12th man is very different than being overly aggressive to tomorrow’s visitors. I just hope there ain’t too many objects thrown, violence between fans, or anything very unsavoury sung at Garner. If Swindon manage to hold us - which I doubt as they can’t score goals, at least we can come out with our heads held high if we are generous enough to the visitors.

Do you want to blame him for us being stuffed by Orient and the current fuel crisis as well?

Whoever took the two corners that led to our Walsall goals better take them against Swindon.Probably aim for Pitmam or use him as a cunning decoy.
Let's get stuck in and make Swindon feel a wee bit uncomfortable about their possibly negative possession. Let's kill their attempts at a good pass to their forward/s.
Big support is important for this game.
Rovers to win 2 0

Are you denying Joey gaslighting the supporters with his public criticism of Tisdale and Garner and talk of the cancer at this club? Fact is he did. And fact is my post clearly called for calm and decency. Noise and support yes, victimisation no. Gasheads Having been starved of live derby excitement I have concerns it could boil over. Anyone else want to have a go at my factual and perfectly judged posts? Who wants some facts and truths folded like a Millwall brick? Eh? Who wants some?

I’m not being argumentative. We were only in the relegation zone under one manager last season, let alone bottom

If you require calm and decent discourse then write factually, and don't attempt to glorify somebody with a long history of violence.

We’re on a one match winning run and he hasn’t been accused of assaulting anyone for weeks

You have to flag up where I glorified Joey or strayed from the facts. I call him out when he makes mistakes. And, to close that down too with facts and truths of the matter. No one knows either way what is going to go on in the court. But we can be pretty sure, provided we are riding high in table, Joey won’t be sacked. Regardless what was said before, it will be fudged won’t it, so he can continue managing our promotion push. That’s even if it goes against him in court, which no one can be sure about particularly as there won’t be witnesses supporting either charge, and without evidence against them people remain innocent until proven guilty. But questions around our manager and his past shouldn’t even be raised here, this a football thread for those wishing to enjoy build up to a big game! I’m sure we got too much for them. I also suspect Swindon have bad focus, they have already gone down brawling several times this season. We keep our composure and focus, get the lead, easy from there, my prediction. Anyone else want some? Yer maw's git balls n yer da' loves it.

Has Garner done a clear out there too? I know they were in financial trouble but I haven't followed them that closely. Is it a new team? They seem to be doing alright judging by their league position, but the fans don't seem that convinced as there was a bit of a moan about tiki-taka football from some of them.

"Tiki-taki" is fine with an end product. I imagine this is what some Swindon fans are concerned about. Rovers need to keep a tight defence and win all 50 50s,slaughter their midfield.Win the battle.Kill any Swindon killer passes. Then whoever took the corners for our Walsall goals should definitely take them today and possibly all indirect free kicks too. Aim for Pitman and hopefully we score.
