Job done
We weren't great, but we battled and harried and were better than them
They weren't very good and were niggly. Blackman's gloves won't need a wash

Didn’t see that result coming but we definitely needed it with Tranmere winning. Well done Gas and Benny - credit where credit is due as that is a decent win

S'land never threatened. Good team spirit. Garner safe. Blimey - is it that good or bad?

Nailed on win for Sunderland. Just a question of how many to nil. We seem to be in the middle of yet again a dark era in our history with little, make that nothing, to look forward to. Oh the joys of being a Gashead. UTG Delighted to be 100% wrong. Great result...still need convincing Benny is the right man for the job.

Despite liking the look of JML, and Daly when he came on, I felt sick when Keith Brookman and Richard Hoskin started talking in the 84th minute as if Rovers had already won the game. It only takes a second to score a goal, and Sunderland had just brought on a £4m substitute striker! But the moment I started to believe we might actually be on for the win was when the ref gave us a goal-kick on about 91 minutes and their player - O'Nine, O'Neen, Onion, or whatever his name was - just walked over to retrieve the ball, with no sense of urgency. It looked as though they'd given up. Well played, Rovers!

Well done Gas and Benny - credit where credit is due as that is a decent win It’s a big name on paper but was it a good win if Sunderland didn’t play to their potential? At least it didn’t sound like it on the radio. I would hope that Garner has to massively improve his win ratio to prove he is worth being given next season, it sounds like on Gaschat they have flip-flopped back to Garner in. It’s all a bit ridiculous, he’s still only won 2 games since Christmas. 2 games! So, imo, anyone who has changed their mind on the strength of a win against a not up for it team is kidding themselves. Let’s beat Peterborough away and that will be a statement of intent.

Imo. I think we'll lose.Crowd will boo and jeer Ben Garner. I have a ticket, but still not sure if I'm going. The Twerton game was fantastic, apart from Kenny's broken leg and I believe Sunderland players damaged their changing room.4 0 to Rovers and confirmation we ain't bad team. Tonight will re-confirm we are rubbish. I've been a big critic of BG so I've quoted my completely wrong pre match prediction above. Sunderland were poor but Rovers looked organised and up for it.Harries the ch from Swans reads game well, classy left foot. JCH excellent. Sercs and Ollie did a good job. The new lads that played looked good. Tonight's the first time I've seen signs of good things to come. It's one game that's all,but it was a deserved win.Eg our first goal was possibly the best of the season. I think Sunderlands first shot came in time added on after the 90. We'll see it may only be a reprieve of sentence for Ben Garner, but fair play,he and Rovers got the 3 points tonight as the better team.

Just got back!
Much much better and great team performance. JCH deserved m o m. Ably supported by JML and Cam, I can actually see this working as CH never gives up and has an engine on him.
We battled for everything and hurried the opponent's into forced and unforced errors. Much better tempo. Much better work rate. And for me, much better defending higher up pitch and marking when not in possession. Really motivated and noticeable.
Have to say very disappointed in Sunderland. Poor gamesmanship tactics. Poor play acting to get players booking.
The ref bought some of it but I thought mainly a good game as had his hands full.
BG. Ok, he got this one right. I looked at team sheet pre match and thought unfair to drop Daly after Saturday debarkle. This worked tonight, but it doesn't take away the awful stats. If it's a re-start of a new era, fair play, but I'm very skeptical.
We'll see.
Instincts say we played a potentially good team on an off day, but can only play what's put in front of you.
Well done, BG not a technically gifted match to reflect on, but for hard work and endeavour, a performance to be proud of..

A famous great football legend once said 'it's a funny old game'...how the hell can we lose against that pile on the weekend and then beat Sunderland tonight.
Answer: passion, commitment, tenacity, guile and good old work-rate, bring on the Tractor Boys.
1200 fans made the very long trip down tonight, big up to them.

You can only beat what's in front of you, and not our problem if they didn't turn up. I wasn't there tonight so can't say if they didn't play to their potential because we did - it is possible. I've definitely not changed my mind on the back on one admittedly excellent win. There's lots of damage to be repaired over the past 18 games before I do that, but enjoying the feeling of a decent win tonight.

Deserved to win and the game could have ended 0-0. We made the most of any chances we got. If we play like that in the future I will be happy. I can't explain what I witnessed or why it happened, that's football. 🤷♂️

Blackman's gloves won't need a wash you’ve summed it up perfectly I won’t bother typing much. Sunderland, big club desperate to go up, want automatic played psychosomatic from start to finish. Putting too much pressure on themselves, zilch composure, and their midfield gave us so much space it was unreal considering Wycombe, MK and tranmere certainlydidn’t. hargreaves runs like a bath.

Great team performance tonight full of aggression and passion which brought a much deserved win. No point in getting carried away but tonight was special and the atmosphere was cracking.

No point in getting carried away but tonight was special and the atmosphere was cracking. my eyes told me there were quite a few Sunderland fans packing terrace and tent. My ears called my eyes liars. quite a big game for them looking at table now. Their players reaction at end was like they’ve been beaten in a cup final.
