Can we emulate that fateful night?
Kenny Hibbit getting injured and the Gas romp on to 4-0 home win in front of just over 4000 fans?!!
Some of the songs that night... On the dole. My old man said be a c*ty fan. Never take my Rovers away. Where's your famous Roker Roar?
And many, many others..
Unfortunately all I can see is a Gas loss. Unless something drastic happens. Brace brace we're in for a long night.

Imo.
I think we'll lose.Crowd will boo and jeer Ben Garner.
I have a ticket, but still not sure if I'm going.
The Twerton game was fantastic, apart from Kenny's broken leg and I believe Sunderland players damaged their changing room.4 0 to Rovers and confirmation we ain't bad team.
Tonight will re-confirm we are rubbish.

I’m optimistic. But then I usually am and I’ve only seen us twice since Christmas and we haven’t lost in those two games. Hence I’m looking forward to it. UTG!

So the hoards of Sunderland fans are descending on Horfield all 1500 of them and will be looking forward to completing a league double and boost their play off ambitions.
Many gasheads boycotting this one...despair, cannot afford it, washing their hair, watching on Ifollow etc
Cannot see many more than a gate of 4500 tonight and feel uneasy at the potential of another home defeat.
Time for the underperforming players to put on a performance and compete with the giants of the division.
See you there.
ps Don't forget the Dementia UK fundraiser and food bank collection on Saturday before the Ipswich match. Hopefully corona wont stop fans attending.

Nailed on win for Sunderland. Just a question of how many to nil. We seem to be in the middle of yet again a dark era in our history with little, make that nothing, to look forward to. Oh the joys of being a Gashead. UTG

The angry Sunderland players were sent a bill of £2000 for damage to the away dressing room....mind you some said their activities improved the changing room. Twerton was a real dump still is and before anyone says NO I hated watching games there. The Mem is much better and our natural home superb pitch and much easier to park on matchdays and the Welly too. Whats not to like ?

I don't think the gate will be anywhere near that low... but you never know. Sunderland not on a great run - but shouldn't stop them winning. 8-13 Sunderland to win (and tightening) looks a tad generous. A Gas win as wide as 11/2 (and widening). Edit: Matchday Thread merged.

Nailed on win for Sunderland. Just a question of how many to nil. We'll be lucky to get 'nil'. I don't ever want Rovers to lose a league game. But winning now may save BG, ruining next year.

Herewith a frivolous post: If I were Garner I'd go 3-5-2 with this line-up:
Jaakola
Little Davies THD
Ginnelly Upson Ogogo Barrett Matthews
JCH Reilly
...but of course he can't, as his luck is about as appalling as his record. Says it all really. Perhaps its a good day to be playing the 'Black Cats'.

Manager v Dressing Room
Us fans. We called for Clarke to go. We watched Cocko have an on air breakdown about the dressing room (at least once) and now Garner is a game or two from the sack. But have us fans got it wrong all the time, it was the dressing room, not the boss.
If there is a bit of a dressing room problem, is Garners tough and determined new broom plan, that isn’t going to happen that quickly, actually the best long term option?
Josh Barrell is trying hard to pass Garners basic fitness test to be able to make team sheet. So word is he isn’t sulking or skulking but head down trying hard.
Is this sensible from Garner, or just stick the lad in at 10 and see? Would Gazza or Messi make a Garner 11 with this test in place?
I recall a chap called Ginola bombed out of clubs for being on golf course when he should have been training, and Keegan going on record that he doesn’t mind that if he keeps performing for him in matches. And he did perform, didnt he?

I dont think I can have that...it was brilliant at Twerton after a difficult start..not sure the atmosphere has ever been matched at the Mem...natural home it is not...essentially still a rugby ground..only advantage over Twerton is that's in Bristol (I go for a morale boosting 0-0 tonight...heart ruling head!!...UTG)
