Bristol Rovers record league win (including non-league) is 7-0. Achieved 5 times in its entire 100 year history. Brighton 1952 - ended up promoted. Swansea 1954 Shrewsbury 1964 Alfreton 2015 - last game of the season, promoted via play-offs Scunthorpe 2022 - last game of the season, promoted automatically So 7-0, once every 18 years or so (war years not counted). 46 games a season. So once every 825 games sort of thing. If my maths is correct. Get outta town. 100 year history ? 1883 !

I have been reading lots of comments on this game over the past twelve or so hours and it is unbelievable what you hear from the ‘ Shy Teds’, they just can’t seem to accept or applaud anything that their cross town club can achieve, it is all a bit sad if you ask me.

I did mention that in the city group some clown put me in and then, after half a season of abused but more in banter, i got thrown out , the funny part is i didn’t ask to be in it. That’s facebook for you

He came up from Bath and spent time on the Gloucester Road before the game. Ended up in a packed Anchor as they drank copious amounts of cider and watched Sky Sports News, hearing the roars from the Memorial Stadium. At final whistle there was a stampede up the road and the Police let them into the ground to join in the celebrations. Sensible policing. Looked like some happy people about. I'm second hand very happy for all of them.

That’s facebook for you Same as their fans who are claiming that the pitch invasion was deliberate, so that we would know the final result of the Northampton game, due to the delay. Umm - do they not remember Coventry v City in 1977 - when both teams maintained their place in the old First Division, because the kick off was delayed? People in glass houses, eh?

Mmm... an unbridled celebration on watching a once in a lifetime 7-0 last gasp promotion vs A pre-planned and deliberate delay, to then play out a draw and relegate Sunderland. Sh*theads eh?

And if you listen to Cloughie’s interview after their game yesterday whence it got to 2 - 2 both benches looked at each other and more or less said right that’s it, we both got what we needed , game over, I suppose there is no written law against that but a little harsh on Sutton I thought.

Things like this happen in all professional sports, you take what advantages come your way, as long as they are within the rules. I've recently learnt a lot about that whilst watching Drive to Survive.

Big thank you to the referee away at Oldham. Failed to award them a perfectly good goal 😂 I think we would have scored 8 if needed

Yesterday was exactly why I love football.
I'm an adopted Gashead, born in Cardiff, watched the bluebirds for 10 years in the 80s before moving to Bristol.
I went down the red half for 5 years before changing allegiance when I started going to the Mem with the missus in 99.
Best decision I ever made.
Rovers fans are realistic about their position in the pyramid. They applaud effort even if the team doesn't always win, they just demand that effort.
This season we have had it in spades as well as THE best football I have seen there.
I have been away at Walsall, Swindon, Vale and Rochdale this season and the atmosphere has been incredible, especially after last season.
It goes to show that going down and keeping faith with a young, very progressive, extremely ambitious and influential manager, is sometimes the way to go and is worth sticking with.
Another mid table in L1 without Barton surely would not have topped this.
As it is, I genuinely feel we have a chance of going up next season.
We don't have to be his best friend, but as a manager he has come through.
I took a break from this forum because I believed in the team and could not stand the negativity of one or two after we had beaten Northampton at home after being down to 10 men.
Ironic.
We remained unbeaten against all of the top 10 in at least 1 game and crucially took 6 pts off Northampton.
Up yours.
I am glad to be proved right and will argue the toss with anyone who says otherwise.
Evans player of the year, followed by Belshaw. Love Coutts and Finlay, orrible both of them.
I will never forget yesterday's scenes, then all the singing and drinks on Glos Rd.
Here's to next season.
