So here it is, the big day, the “free hit”.

Will we all be ecstatic come 5:00pm or will we be deploying our back-up plan, the play-off’s, only to start this emotional roller coaster all over again?

As supporters we’ve recently been divided and I’m sure we will continue to disagree but not today… please not today. Today is about the club, the team but most importantly us, the long suffering Gasheads… we deserve this.

It will be stressful until a 1st or 2nd goal goes in but this is what football is all about, the last game of the season, a sunny day, a packed Mem, everything to play for and one ear on the radio (or eye on the phone these days). God I miss days like this.

After 50+ years of supporting this team I can count on one hand the number of memorable seasons we’ve had, I really hope I’ll be using two hands to recall them after today.

Thanks to Mr Tim Berners-Lee, I’ll be up at 1:30 am on the other side of the world listening to the build-up on Radio Bristol, drinking copious amounts of coffee and a mini bottle of champagne on standby as I watch the game and the day unfold.

My plans post-match? It depends.

Should we gain promotion, I’d love to be wallowing in the glory on Gloucester Road but for me it’ll be Radio Bristol, soaking up every last drop of the elation. “Shout out to Jeff in New Zealand” would be nice should any of you get to talk with 20Man. I can then, in a small way, feel part of what would be a magnificent day.

And what if, God forbid, we don’t get promoted today? Then it’s back to bed to dream of Wembley glory.

I really wish I was there but I’ll be watching and I’ll be listening and I’ll be going through exactly the same emotions as every one of you.

Hmm,I know the match statistics strongly favoured Hartlepool at Scunthorpe last week, all except the goals,it was a draw.
Worth bearing in mind.

Having said that I actually think we are capable of dishing out a thorough beating to the Iron.

A 7 0 is not out of the question.

Wear them down,"pass them to death" (Eclectic Blue) ,create chances and hope all concerned have their goal scoring boots on.

Aaron Collins is adding a 'sniffer' quality to his game.Great strikers like Allan Clark and Gary Lineker eg did very well from making sure they were in the area, infront of of the goal,waiting for tap ins and second balls.

I will not be surprised to see Aaron bag another hattrick (+!) today.

In the scenario Joe goes for a 'straight swap' for Paul Coutts, then Glen will I'm sure do a good job.He'll defend,tackle and on the ball often enough give it to Billy and Anthony Evans.Then off we go!

The sun has got it's hat on,even if we lose 10 0 we're in the play offs,it's a lovely Rovers day.

The roar of Gasheads will act as the teams signal to charge.
