Glad Taylor is back and that he is ok. I’ll go for a close 2-1 today and a reaction to Tuesday night. Welcome back Olly Clarke, hope you are MOM for Mansfield and you lose! I’ll remember the goals at Telford and Eastleigh in the early days of the Conference. Thank you. UTG! Welcome back John-Jo O’toole too? Has just got booked in the 90th minute.

A very good point earned today, well done to all at BRFC. i agree. That’s good performance and result from us. And unlucky not to get all 3. 🤬 Only 10 off promotion now. Moment anyone says Conner Taylor has torn hamstring out for 8 weeks, our promotion push is over though.

A draw probably a fair result. Was the proverbial game of two halfs. We did well in the second half, and had two very strong cases for a penalty turned down. The foul on Nicholson was right in front of where I stand, and looked pretty clear cut to me. Lifted bodily off his feet, and dumped on the ground. Linesman saw it, but just shook his head. Defensively, I thought we looked pretty solid. Connolly and Taylor look a decent centre half pairing, and Hoole and Anderton coped well too. Probably would have made more substitutions, and a lot earlier, but there you go. A decent point, I guess.

It's a decent point as Stags will be tough opponents for the rest of the season.
I actually thought Aaron threw himself across the defenders leg and over acted a dive.Ref got it right imo.

We probably just would have justified 3 points based on the second half, but hey. A win Tuesday and we're on again.

Not sure on the formation today, seemed like 4 1 4 1. Not sure it worked, yes we had better possession second half but did not cause any problems for their keeper. Preferred 4 2 3 1 we previously employed.

Just got a round robin email from t’clown Barton banging on about wanting more, and noisier, support today after the loss on Tuesday, can’t remember much more even after reading it all as it is in my iPad’s trash bin. There would be more support if he were to leave, get sacked again, get banned by the FA again, get jailed again… What a ridiculous post. Why don’t you go and support Swindon or the Sh1t, or in fact any other club. You obviously don’t support Rovers so why bother commenting?

When we had the wind we’d were better than they had been. They got very lucky today, just like they did on the opening day. Id love to see a team full of first choice players, seriously doubt if we’ll see it this season, very suffered horrendous injury problems. PS I can see why Newcastle let that dirty b'stard Longstaff go out on loan. He was crap today; how he ever played in the Prem is a mystery based on today’s display.

You're quite right, Basel. Collins cheated. The bloke stretched his leg to clear the ball from in front of him and on the replay you'll see Collins's leg move towards it to get a slight touch and go tumbling. Players are so adept at this these days and it takes three or four different angles to see it clearly, but in this case the iFollow camera picks it up from a perfect angle. Barton's little tirade afterwards about 7,000 fans to a man (don't women count?) saw it was a penalty made him look stupid. I mean, all fans are biased and most of them have to look over somebody else's shoulder at some distance from the play. Our trusty commentators thought it looked stonewall too and they don't have replays.

I was on the East Terrace, level with the penalty box, so had a great view of the penalty.
It was definitely a pen, as O'Toole caught Collins. However, the fall was quite dramatic.
Praise for our defence today. Really good. Think of the ages of Hoole, Taylor and Connolly - seriously impressive. 4 at the back definitely improves us.
When you play in those conditions, you do need a centre-forward, so the continued absence of Loft and Clarke hurt us, especially today.

Stats - BRFC 0 Mansfield 0 - Shots 9-6 - On Target 1-4 - Corners 4-4 - Fouls 7-15 - Yellows 2-3 - Reds 0-0 - Referee: John Busby - Attendance: 7,707
Match Report:
Mansfield stretched their unbeaten League Two run to 11 games with a goalless draw at Bristol Rovers.
But Nigel Clough's promotion-chasing team were made to fight all the way by a battling home side, particularly in the second half.
The only major talking point came in the 64th minute when Rovers striker Aaron Collins went down inside the box under a challenge from former Pirates midfielder John-Joe O'Toole.
It looked a decent shout for a penalty, but the linesman was close to the incident and referee John Busby booked Collins for diving to the fury of Rovers boss Joey Barton.
Neither goalkeeper was seriously tested in a first half devoid of goalmouth action.
Mansfield's Matty Longstaff had a 10th-minute shot from distance comfortably held by James Belshaw.
Jamie Murphy also fired over for the visitors from inside the box, while at the other end Connor Taylor headed over from a Rovers corner.
Rovers improved after the break and had several efforts at goal without forcing Nathan Bishop to make a difficult save.
The match was played in a biting wind that made life difficult for both teams.

Before Southend United's recent game against Bromley Kevin Maher made the comments below which I think are interesting when compared to JB's programme notes today. What stands out for me is that there is no demand for Southend fans to be grateful to their owner, CEO, Community Trust, or groundsmen and there is no attempt to stifle legitimate criticism or any implication that "if you are not with us you are against us". Kevin says in a simple understated way that he is grateful for the fans support whereas JB seems determined to take the "gratefulness culture" at Rovers to new levels and to vilify anyone who disagrees with him.
Kevin Maher's attitude is far more in keeping with the BRFC I once knew but I understand that these days fans are willing to forsake standards of dignity and sincerity so long as they think it will bring Rovers success. But will it ?
SOUTHEND United’s match against Bromley will be watched by a bumper crowd at Roots Hall tonight.
Blues have already sold 7,600 tickets for the National League clash as Kevin Maher’s side aim to make it eight league games without defeat.
And Maher remains incredibly grateful for the support.
“To see the number of tickets being sold is a real credit to the fans,” said the Blues boss.
“They’re right behind us and they’ve been brilliant lately.
“It makes a massive difference on the pitch and you can see that with the late goals we’ve got.
“When the crowd stays with you like that it can make a big difference.”
Blues last played in front of a crowd of more than 7,000 at Roots Hall back in February 2020 against Coventry City

They made me laugh, but saddened. You are right Swiss about Maher, it appears far less of an attempt to promote a culture of a "Cult" In the meantime drawing 0-0 at home to Mansfield is brilliant, allegedly.

We have apparently turned a corner with excellence now running through the football club and JB was hoping to put another brick in place today. When I read that I couldn't help but be grateful that one of the first things Dwane Sports did in 2016 was to improve the sanitary facilities at the Mem. Yet nobody is asking why we haven't heard from Wael for so long ?
