Hanlan my MOTM. Excellent result, and somewhat unexpected. UTG & Eisern.

Both times Tom Davies said a goal was coming, we scored 30 secs later... Hanlon MOTM

Tutonda MOTM for me. Looked comfortable on the ball and good distribution. Tracked back to stop counter attacks and he's called Dave.

We shouldn’t let Ben Garner get away with too much after that performance. We stepped up the pace for a period after half time, pushed forward the wing backs, but there was very little footballing performance or goal threat from us to achieve the crucial one goal lead. There was no real Garner ball on show, or convincing performance until on top. We didn’t play with enough Tempo.
Hanlon was excellent again throughout, his opponents this week not of the same quality as recent, and Daly distracted them helped Hanlon. At no point is he looking for a penalty, he is looking to beat his man as he always is, Bolger thought he would try the touch line and covered that, Hanlon dropped shoulder and went the other way.
Baldwin scores, but I don’t think much of his defending at all. The more I see of Nicholson the less I like him, he’s not a team player.
Hare got into it very well, with a beautifully deft pass into the box. Hare’s breadth away from a score line that would have flattered our off pace performance. Hanlon should have added a second, it was a poor finish really.
Stick with the 5 3 2 for a few games. Stick with hare and the midfield three. Stick with Hanlon and Ansii. The rest can be dropped anytime in my book.

October 2020 is an unusual month. Harvest Moon. Blue Moon. Hollow Moon. Gas winning well and possibly more importantly, performing well? Much needed win.
A well deserved win today, it should have been 5!
When team announced, it appeared likely to me more balanced, and players earning their place....I personally don't like the set up 3-4-3, but opposition didn't have the tools to take our formation apart. Also, our top goalscorer dropped?! Wtf!?....
20 minutes in, we could easily have been 2 down....so many times opposition players find time and space in our pen area but (luckily for us) this time they missed their opportunities.... maybe much like we have in previous matches. Over all, with the other 70 minutes (Bolger and Ratchet apart) I thought we were far the better team and won a well deserved match fairly. I'm not commenting on Northampton defence, because if those goals were given away from our side wouldn't be happy, but a great finish from both goal scorers..
Tutonga a credible replacement for Leahy. Hare for me should be senior right (wing)back, Little not impressed me apart from one goaline clearance. Jaak commanding in area. But for me, a brilliant up front energy and m o m display from Hanlon, he really needs a strike partner in a partnership, not a winger helping him.
I so hope we can dip into the market before the transfer window closes, Hanlon needs some help and as much as he's a handful for defenders atm, it's only a matter of time before more wiley defences secure him up.
One thing I think we can take out of this match is so many players played well. Probably because playing in positions familiar.
Another thing is: we are taking confident penalties! This might help in fa cup matches....?
Ok, a very good win today, I think much much needed. Well done to BG and his management team and the squad.

UP THE GAS! Yeah agree, his commentary, aside from calling us Bristol, was good... Some encouraging performances today I thought, Hanlan, Daly and Tutonda all did well

Agree.Hanlan top notch and what a class player Tutonda is.So much time and quality on the ball.Hare good too and although Leahy is our top scorer and gets very involved with his defensive lapses,I think we were better without him today.Alfie will reflect on not getting a game and the second half was very enjoyable. Ref very fit and always up with play.Mixed views on the Chelsea loanee.Nice to have a pleasant Sat evening.Well done boys.Free beer at the Royal Oak for everyone.

One big proviso on all the excitement. Northampton were absolutely dire. i am very pleasantly surprised by the result. Northampton seem to be a very 'up & at em , in your face' team, exactly the sort of side I thought we wouldn't want to be facing at the moment. Very early days yet, but here's hoping I will have to write a grovelling apology to Ben Garner at the end of the season.

I dont think anybody has a need to apologise ref negative comments about BG, his record is currently awlful. Not sure who he supports, but i dont think he would be all smiles and positive if his supported team had our record. Highlights for me today, how we played against 10 men and that we had over 50 possession, 2nd game running i believe, Tutonga and Hare Negative, he was still banging on about last weeks ref and Grant is just not clicking.
