"Small town in Shropshire, we're just a small town in Shropshire" was a funny, self-deprecating chant I heard before THAT game at Wembley in 2007... Over the last 10 and 12 games only Bolton and Tranmere have worse form. Cold, wet and windy (again). Feeling a bit more positive about this one. I great chance of 3 points (possibly back to back wins with Sarfend away next Saturday). I'll stick my neck out and go 2-0 to the Gas.

Bad form, manager 1 game from sack, injury crisis for today’s game.
I am firmly expecting us to stamp ourselves on this home match, solid defending, control of midfield, and aggressive forward play. We got the monkey off our back last home game, no one expected much at maccam (except the night out in Newcastle) now we go out there an express ourselves. Beware of the Og? During the good autumn run he got man of the match every week, but his game, closing down quickly, lends itself to match fitness, without that fitness, and he has been losing feeling in his legs, he shouldn’t be in side anyway. In place of Ogogo we will be rolling out the barrel for this one, Barret to play eganche!
It’s proper soggy out there, if this is on credit to whoever for sorting our pitch out, it was fine last home game.

Bookies have us as favourites. Best price Gas win 17-10 (widening). Best price the Shrews win 12-5 (tightening) and the draw 2-1. Tight game in crap conditions...

I have a dark feeling this will be 0-0. The shrews are going to shut up shop and go for the draw. I would drop JCH and go with the unknown of Daly & Abraham upfront in a 4-4-2, and bring JCH on second half, now that is experimentation!. Please Mr Garner no 4-3-3 at home!. COYB!...

Probably the most uninspiring fixture so far. Two off form teams with nothing to play for.
Not even a well known breakfast cereal would make this entertaining.
Throw in some unpredictable weather, and we may have a match to forget...?
Anyways, it's sunny here at Mem atm, and cider is flowing. What could possibly go wrong?
I'll predict: 4-3-3. 0-0. Struggle huff and puff. If conditions don't get the blame for a lousy performance, the officials will.
And we move on to the same groundhog day next week.
Here we go again!

Will it be more like 4 2 3 1
With maybe Sercs back. Thought this was what we were trying before his injury.
We started season 4 4 2, injuries led us to 3 5 2 which was more 5 3 2. Either way lots of negative about those systems when not working.
Hare not ready do we have any proper full backs fit today?

The last time we played on Saturday 29th February was 1964, and, by coincidence, it was against Shrewsbury (at Gay Meadow). We won 1-0 with a goal from Bobby Jones.

4-3-3 again then with Sercs adding some quality to the midfield trio. Still not sure about Menayese as a right back. Or Leahy as a left back. JML & Ginnelli supporting JCH up front. Edit: Kilgour right back. Not a right back either!

Shrews in bluey/purple away strip... so from behind, look very similar to Rovers. Off we go...

No shots to their 3 and they have more possession according to the reporter in the stand.

The wind is making a bit of a lottery, but Shrews definitely making the better of the conditions. Blackman probably our best player with a couple of decent saves (one after Leahy was easily beaten). Very little shape. The front 3 look like strangers and haven't linked well so far. Not good.

I just couldn’t risk going today plus I really have found the games so hard to watch. Wish I had bought some cognac, as it would warm me up.

Still hoping we win, obviously but I do now have to wonder if a win would just be enough to paper over the cracks ? When normally positive supporters such as yourself, say things like this.
