I was at Kettering, Hitchin , the Chesham game, the Barrow one- I'm actually struggling to remember all the others- and I was there last night. I enjoyed last nights game far more than any of the others I just mentioned. Should we get past Plymouth and get a glamour tie in the 3rd round, no one will be moaning about last nights performance. Not your flare was it??...

The best entertainment on offer was the quote from GC repeated by the commentator when TN was being discussed - GC essentially said that Rovers fans should get off TN's back as he was putting in a huge amount of work every time he plays. I'm dreadfully sorry, but he isn't - and that's a large part of the problem. If we saw him busting a gut, leaving it all on the pitch etc. people would be less critical of his non-scoring performances but that isn't the case pretty much every time I've seen him play including today. You can sympathise with poor form to some extent but giving less than total effort is unforgivable. GC needs to throw away these rose-tinted specs he clearly employs and see the real picture. If our manager genuinely believes that Nichols is going out and leaving everything on the pitch then he's not fit to manage a professional football club. Everybody can see Nichols strolling around, pulling out of tackles, not closing opponents down. The riddle with the bloke is, why does he keep getting time on the pitch? Surely we have to offload and replace him with some quality in Jan to support JCH. Get Doidge, or even bring Gaffney back

Heard that, and I agree with you, the lad is out of sorts completely since joining us, or maybe PBoro did a great job in shifting him on whilst he still had the Exeter glow about him. Anyway, its time for him to leave, whether on loan or otherwise, its not doing him any use, nor the team. As fans, we of course vent on here, but actually I think he has had amazing sympathy and support from the fans, in the main. He isn't a goal scorer, a threat or imaginative to create. He doesn't work any harder than any of em, so he doesn't add extra in those stakes.
If we gave the same chances to Reilly he would do better, particularly with JCH.

If I was a teammate of Nichols, I would be trying to nick the ball off him to do something creative with it, I am sorry, I have seen him so many times not getting stuck in, not back-tracking, letting others do the chasing, for the life of me how GC can state that 'the lads' love him is beyond my comprehension!. His poise on the pitch is that of a 'gifted' striker that has the luxury of looking lazy but when played into, gets the job done, rather than a done job, the whole team are carrying him, as they have done for several seasons now, surely time for a change?.

Not sure why I sat down and watched the whole game. Morbid curiosity perhaps.
Absolute dogs**t from beginning to end.

Very happy with the win. Put them right in their place. Everything against Rovers going into the game, a bit of arrogance from Bromley, shut the eff up and get back to your league. Well done gas, brilliant dogged defence Did you seen the game ? Bromley were much better on the ball and were the dominant side. The stats don’t lie, well, most of the time lol. As another poster wrote, we won so that’s all that really matters. I used to say I’d take winning ugly over a gallant loss. I’m starting to have my doubts though, as are around 1500-2000 others. Going to games isn’t much fun nowadays and the atmosphere can be toxic to silent

Iam in agreement good solid performance, defensively sound , got the early goal, sat back and seen it out relatively comfortablely. Good team spirit, which bodes well for a decent cup run (Finally!) See off Plymouth then City away - So already the 4th round beckons! UTG I’ll have whatever you were drinking. They had a perfectly good goal disallowed but that is balanced out, over a season. If I were a Bromley fan then I’d feel mugged. They played the better football. I thought we were supposed to be playing wingbacks lol. JCH has carried us and I shudder to think where we would be, without him

Nichols has been a terrible deal for us clearly and ultimately cost DC his job more than anythng else. I think we've just been fundamentally missold. Clearly that Exeter stretch convinced quite a lot of managers and scouts that he was a goalscorer and DC would have liked him because he was desperate to find a Taylor type player who could also act as a centre point for the build up. But Taylor was a unique player in my view and very hard to replace on a like for like basis. Nichols might well have the capacity to be that kind of playmaker but not when he plays so high up the pitch because he's expected to be a goalscorer. Now his confidence is clearly shot to hell but I see him more as a poor man's Sammy Igoe type player - he has no forwards instincts. If he'd played that role from the start he might have been useful to us but pigeon holing him as a striker has clearly ruined him as a player.

Gets time on the pitch as there are no alternatives. The loanees aren't prolific and Smith like Nichols isn't physical enough.Deon is out on loan so Jan will be interesting.Jamie Cureton would offer more threat.

Everybody can see Nichols strolling around, pulling out of tackles, not closing opponents down. The riddle with the bloke is, why does he keep getting time on the pitch? Incriminating pictures of Coughlan and an inebriated donkey? Yeah, the BT commentator and Virgo sounded as though they got the rundown on Nichols from GC himself. Virgo had a little dig at Rovers' fans "who can be like that, as I well know". The fact is, our fans have shown Nichols more than enough patience over the years he's been with us but have now seen through the "runs his socks off" nonsense because they know it takes more than that to be a good striker, and he hasn't got it because nothing ever comes of it - apart from gurt spuds in his socks that is. The commentator apologised a couple of times for the swearing from the crowd behind him. Anyone know if there were Rovers' fans sitting there because when Nichols was subbed at the same time as a Bromley player, a loud voice screamed "get off, you're a pile of s***e. you're just dogs***e".

From what I saw last night, Bromley played football Rovers didn't. TC is so light weight puzzling why he is on the pitch. Had the goal stood they scored, Bromley would have won comfortably.

If you have nothing constructive to say and have to result to gutter language and casual racism, why don’t you go and play with the traffic somewhere? It would be a far more valuable use of everyone’s time, including your own.

Adam has let himself down badly with that cheap dig at Rovers' supporters. Players here get away with murder. Even after the thick end of 100 League games with 2 goals, the vast majority of the noise aimed at Tom around me on match days is supportive. When Tom hit a bit of form last season and provided a couple of assists, everybody was delighted for him. Maybe he's remembering an argument that Buckle chose to start with people on the terraces when he was under the first bit of pressure, but it was never aimed at Adam. Very poor Mr Virgo.
