Looks like it is going to be a 0-0, good for them disappointing for us, Rovers take a quick free kick, McCrystal long pass, shirt pulling by Blisset free kick to cheaters. Carrol to take free kick. Alan Smith weak shot, tries again but full time.

we're 11th out of 24, with a game in hand on most of the division, and beginning to find our form
could be a lot worse, and often has been!

Yes, I would have happily taken this at the start of the season given offseason chaos and so many player unproven at this level. Seems a good team spirit in the side still which is good.
It is interesting that throughout the whole DC era we have been better away (both in terms of results vs expectations and performances) than we have been at home. From what I've seen of us it strikes me that DC is really excellent at sizing up the strengths and weaknesses of an opposing and adapting our tactics within game to put us on the front foot but I wonder if in general we have a team and an approach that is just better designed to playing away where we react to the opposition than at home where we are expected to make the running a bit more. I'm not saying that our home form has been terrible - just that people seem noticeably more underwhelmed by our performances in home games. Is it a tactics thing or do we just lack the necessary game breakers in our squad against sides who stick men behind the ball?

Well that's one more point we've got now than we had before the game started, we have no divine right to win every game. Next the Newport game, don't let me down Rovers, I work with at least 10 of their supporters and have a number of friends who attend their games.

Unbelievable game, we should have won, definitely 2 points dropped. If and buts etc but we could be eigth tonight with game in hand playing bottom of league Saturday. Very frustrating.

You make some excellent points there Irish and you might well have 'hit the nail on the head' with the latter part of your last sentence.

Focusing on performances, we have been average at best at home, if the performance tonight is good, we should be able to carry that forward on Saturday.
As said, we would have taken our current league position in July!

I thought we competed well against a team which league position belies.
To reduce McLeod and S*headStead to no shots on goal the whole match (according to bbc) is a credit to m o m Macca and defence.
We hit the bar, and made some good moves, it just didn't work tonight but we were far the more positive team.
I liked their number 33 and they passed the ball well and quickly, especially on counter.
Still they tried to cheat by not returning in gentlemanly fashion when their player feigned injury.
But also one challenge in second half on Leads that resulted in yellow card, was me a fair challenge and we should've had a corner.
Good steady performance, lets keep up the shape, structure and up tempo on Saturday..

I didn't think we were particularly good tonight. We defended well and knocked the ball about prettily, but had all the cutting edge of a wet blanket.
Harrison and Easter were the wrong way round, taking Taylor off was wrong, and putting Montano on was a total waste of time.
We had the best chance of the night, but if it had gone in we'd be toasting a very dull victory.

The last time we were a League 2 team two seasons ago, our stats after 13 games were P 13, W 2, D 4, L 7, F 11, A 18, GD -7, Points 10 and we were 21st. Fast forward to the DC era, and after 13 games we are P 13, W 6, D 2, L 5, F 16, A 13, GD +3, Points 20 and we are 11th. I would say that with a budget much less and chaos off the field much worse, the achievements of DC, the backroom staff and the players have been superb. We are a quarter of way through the season and so far it's been a very steady start. You could see tonight that we aren't quite at our best at home, but like last season, this team has a great ability to grow and gather momentum as the months roll by, and we have a manager who has the ability to galvanise the team when some weeks they might not be feeling up to it. Decent little unbeaten run being created and i think the result tonight will be a good foundation for the game on Saturday.

Just got back. We should have won and we were far the better team, playing some nice football. My comment in an earlier thread about Bodin being the best ball player I have seen for a while was obviously the kiss of death - he was poor today. We did not create many chances, neither did they, and 1 point was actually fair.
Big bad bliss needs to go, he is not good enough and we were worse when he came on.

First match I've managed this season I thought was a good game by league two standards, we probably just edged, but county were probably worth a point, like DC said on the radio earlier, it's a clean sheet, a point, let's move onto Saturday and Newport, it's a 46 game season, no one goes up in October, I thought Sinclair, Macca, and Bodin were stand outs for me, but every player put a good shift in, it could be worse guys, we could be Grimsby or Tranmere both having good seasons and by no means certain to be playing league football next year!!
