We have played them 40 times, W8, D18 & L14, We have won 5-2, 4-2, Lost 3-1 & Drawn 0-0 x 9, 1-1 x 5, 2-2 x 3 & 3-3 x 1.
We played them 10 times from 1969-1974, then after a 27 year break another 13 times and just could not beat them, they became a bogie side to us. Then since 2007 we have won 6 times out of 17 games, the last time a 4-2 home win in december last year.
Rochdale were founded in 1907, they play at Spotland Stadium which has a capacity of 10,249 and are known as The Dale.
Manager Robbie Stockdale played for numerous teams and Scotland 5 times, 1st time as sole manager since july last year.
The club's main rivals are Bury and Oldham Athletic, other significant rivalries have been with Halifax Town, Stockport County, Burnley, Accrington Stanley and Wigan Athletic.

One of they fancy match day titles could perhaps be
A Rochdale Cooperative?Not Likely!
The Dale impressed me at the Mem.They play a good passing game, with a real sense of fair play throughout the team.I imagine they are near top of the Fair Play League.l like them.Edit.Rochdale are top of the Fair Play League.
Rovers know full well we are capable of winning at Spotland (or whatever it's called now),but can they do it today?
Get the attitude right.Win all 50 50s,pass at good tempo and take your shooting boots.
Regarding a chance of a top 3 finish, this is a must win game.
Come on Rovers!

I remember watching a player called Rickie Lambert playing for Rochdale and a certain DrFaustas telling me what a good player he looked. Wonder what happened to young Rickie?

Can't anyone think of a decent pun on Rochdale for the Match Thread Title? I could only come up with "Chip 'N' Dale Not for Sale". But I didn't really like it. Other suggestions welcome.

Went there first game of the season against Scunthorpe (0-0 in the Lancastrian drizzle). "The Crown Oil Arena", a rubbish name and I think everyone still calls it Spotland. The Cemetry Pub is great for a pre-match beer. Safe trip to all Gas going up there today.

We don't usually get much away to Dale and with their fantastic home form, it could be expected we won't today.
But... since January, this is a different breed of Rovers. This squad never expects to lose and rarely does and has a unity and self belief that is inspiring.
Narrow Rovers win is my prediction. UTFG. 🏴☠️

Odds on Rovers to win tightening with the bookies - 11/10 best price and evens most places. Dale to win and the draw both as wide as 5/2. I think Rovers will win today, but need other results to go our way.

It won't be easy, but I think we'll bring 3 points back to Bristol. UTG

I remember when he came on as a sub Terry, when Rochdale beat us 2-1. Some 'good-judges' in the crowd were calling Rickie, a fat b'stard. Mrs. darlo thought the same as Dr. F. There's also a possibility of course that I made all that up, Tel. I trust you're well my friend. #UpTheROVERS #COYB

Who is the Cyril in the title? A prominent but utterly disgraced politician. Edit: On reflection, I'll take the name out and replace it with your suggestion Bas.
