Yes, it's more of a 'feel' thing When they go forward it feels more likely that they'll score than when we do What game were you watching? I thought you weren't going to watch another game until the Manager was sacked/imprisoned/crucified/burnt at the stake. I hope you had a shower after you watched the game. you are right, I wobbled I think as it's Easter (re-births and all that), and all very critical now. Plus a bit of curiosity about how/if things had changed I suspect I won't be repeating the experience though - one swallow doesn't make a summer etc one the plus side, I'm £110 better off than I would have been

The logical anticipation is some of remaining games we may play as well not get three points, or play worse and get points, days when other fixtures go for us and times the form-books upset. We are in relegation zone with not many games and rivals with games in hand. We have to go back to the pubs and prepare for relegation. what was different today was extra man in midfield and less greenhorns unwisely dropped into key defensive roles. And although opponents played quite well, we scored two fine goals. To put it down to Joeys coaching methods a bit embarrassing really. Similar to the Portsmouth result, to give credit for taking a quarter of a season to get the squad to replicate something that he probably sat in the stands and watched and ignore the utter dross and shambles served up between then and now does seem slightly odd, but whatever, it's 3 vital points. With any luck Punchy will be gone soon and Rovers will still be a L1 club. I didn’t feel anything today. Not when Doncaster scored or when Rovers scored. Rovers goals are currently at total odds with my sense of fairness and morality- because if Rovers are successful that means Barton is successful and he shouldn’t be allowed inside a football stadium until his trial is resolved, let alone managing a club. There are millions of managers out there and my local club elected to sign Joey f**king Barton. I still struggle to comprehend it. The next cheer I emit in the name of Bristol Rovers will be when Barton leaves and I couldn’t give a monkey’s if Barton gets Rovers into the prem in the meantime because, imo, Rovers will have “sold out” (to use that hackneyed rock n roll phrase) to have achieved it.

No arduous 600 mile round-trips to the Mem'. No 'northern' away games. My car is in good shape. Haven't pi$$ed away crippling petrol tax to this loathsome Tory mob. Win, win. #UTG

What an important win, at a crucial time. Momentum. Today we got exactly what we deserved, a win. Today we won the battle of hearts.....we simply wanted the win more. Whomever has coached this squad this week needs to take a bow....we were well disciplined in pushing, pressing, harassing in our off the ball non possession game.....it was like the rovers of old. Well done to the management team for this desperate result. By far a perfect performance. Baldwin individual error led to conceding, Upson individual error didn't. Baldwin clears off the line, Jaaaaaaks tips one round the post. Amazingly.....the officials disallowed ( what looked to be a perfectly good goal) for them! Some decisions went for us. Is JAB going to complain about this? Is he going to enter a text with his mate over that incident? McCormick almost perfect performance today. Rightly m o m, but what passion, engine and running from a player that isn't ours? Hanlan took up the Walker role after sub and was my vice m o m with his efforts.... excellent try from him. Westbrooke delivery from set pieces were sometimes awful, but his open play was sublime. Excellent performance from a thoughtful midfielder inspiring confidence. Special mention to Harries. I thought he added a defensive bite, got clearing head on everything, some great passing bisecting their mid....nice play with Baldwin, special mention because of his clearance off the line and almost scored himself! Another point was to bring back a win, a deserved win and great performance from being a goal down shows great character. We're still doomed, but this pattern of play shows we can do something to save ourselves. If we are going down, if we continue to hit those heights of energy and tempo, we'll go down fighting...... pardon the pun on JAB. Well done, us..... UptheGas! Disagree. If JAB takes the stick for a poor performance, conversely he should take some credit for good ones. I take on board what your post says about the extra midfielder, but that extra midfielder still has to fit in with the style and read the game. Every player worked hard to hassle their opponent right on them receiving the ball, so unless that player could one touch control, we were doubling up to win the second ball....a few chances actually spurned from them trying play the ball out.... it's coaching that gave us those kind of opportunities.... and whilst it appeared to work today, there may be a counter to this, which brings into play our manager's nouse.. I agree to prepare for every eventuality, but if we are relegated playing to this energy, and work rate, we'll be going down battling...

I relented and watched the game at the last minute.
Glad I did but the first half was depressing until we equalised, we really didn't look like we cared enough. Their goal was too easy, not enough cover and tracking of runners.
McCormick deservedly gets the plaudits, he was everywhere in addition to his 2 vital goals. Hanlan was very unselfish. Westbrooke made up for some shocking set piece delivery with 2 assists.
The tackle from Harries went viral.
Baldwin deserves credit, especially for his goal line clearance.
Well done JB and the players.
1 down 3 wins to go.

James Coppinger at 40 second oldest player to play against us and the oldest ever goalscorer. I think he may be the third oldest to play against us, and second oldest outfield player after a certain Jamie Cureton?

Luke McCormick
What a great player he's been. I'd wondered if we'd ever get a loanee from a Premiership club again, who is up to the rigours of the 3rd tier.
Socks down, charging around; reminds me a bit of Ollie the way he buzzes round the park. Gives away the odd stray pass, most of his play is positive though.
The one area I thought he had been lacking in was his finishing. He'd shown he had it in him, especially with one quality free-kick, but several occasions the half-chances were scuffed wide, or went flying over the bar - "keep your head over the ball, son" - and then he comes up with those 2 crackers yesterday, following on from a calm finish the previous game.

Brandon Hanlon
Can't fault his effort yesterday. Gave everything. Battled hard. Held the ball up and kept possession with the easy pass when nothing else was on.
Had 2 great chances to make it 2-1 just before half-time. First one he took a couple of touches to bring the ball under control, and the chance was lost - should have hit it first time. Second one he struggled to bring the ball under control, before his shot was closed down by the 'keeper. Both were classic signs of a striker short of confidence. Hopefully the one going in off his backside will come soon and bring the confidence back.
But credit to him, the missed chances didn't seem to play on his mind, and he played a big part in a great team performance.

Overall, with possession, shots etc., it was a deserved victory.
Could have been a different story though, with 2 key moments: 1) Their disallowed goal. Seemed to me the ball was squared. If the scorer was in front of the passer, there couldn't have been much in it. 2) O'Hanlon stood in front of their 'keeper as the winner hit the net. Could easily have been scrubbed off. Makes the disallowed goal against Swindon, when he was no where near interfering with play, and the ball came off an onside Ayunga, seem even more crazy.

Westbrooke 3 shots on target and two assists. The second a no look pass reliant on the shout.

O'Hanlon? 🤭
Haha! I know he was labelled Brendon at one time, but now he's Irish!?

O'Hanlon? 🤭 Haha! I know he was labelled Brendon at one time, but now he's Irish!? Yep! From the moment he signed O'Hanlon, rather than Hanlon, sprang to mind. In one of the early games in the season, one of the Rovers players (I think it was Tom Davies) was acting as co-commentator and called him O'Hanlon. Much prefer O'Hanlon to Hardon, to be honest.
