Have a great evening Gasheads everywhere.
Shame there aren't people there to clap the players off.

think we did just enough to be worth the win
Donny didn't make much headway in the 4th quarter of the match, although but for that great late save by Anssi the result could have been different

In the bottom half of their division now. What makes that even funnier is that they were top after about 10 games and looking strong. No doubt all across the south Bristol sink estates they were already making plans for taking their rightful place in the Premier League and were planning away days at Old Trafford and Anfield. Sorry guys but all that Lansdown's 10 million quid has bought you this season is a negative goal difference and maybe fixtures against either Blackpool or Lincoln to look forward to next year.

That was a nice watch.
Today is a day when a competitive game goes your way. You get the goals in it. Same performance in many of the remaining games unlikely to produce a win. In fact it’s the draws from similar performance in coming weeks likely to relegate us, with a couple of bad nights when we are tucked up in bed with cocoa not even playing.
We have had days like this all through season, it doesn’t change the DNA of a relegation quality squad and manager.

Well played Rovers, still shakey but committed enough to see the game out, for once we rode our luck, superb reaction save by Anssi at the end and a great 3+ points!....

Thank goodness we did - if we had lost today and Northampton and Swindle had won. We would have been on 34 points Swindle on 40 points and Northampton on 42 points - Tight margins indeed UTG

What an important win, at a crucial time.
Momentum.
Today we got exactly what we deserved, a win. Today we won the battle of hearts.....we simply wanted the win more.
Whomever has coached this squad this week needs to take a bow....we were well disciplined in pushing, pressing, harassing in our off the ball non possession game.....it was like the rovers of old. Well done to the management team for this desperate result.
But far from a perfect performance. Baldwin individual error led to conceding, Upson individual error didn't. Baldwin clears off the line, Jaaaaaaks tips one round the post.
Amazingly.....the officials disallowed ( what looked to be a perfectly good goal) for them! Some decisions went for us. Is JAB going to complain about this? Is he going to enter a text with his mate over that incident?
McCormick almost perfect performance today. Rightly m o m, but what passion, engine and running from a player that isn't ours?
Hanlan took up the Walker role after sub and was my vice m o m with his efforts.... excellent try from him.
Westbrooke delivery from set pieces were sometimes awful, but his open play was sublime. Excellent performance from a thoughtful midfielder inspiring confidence.
Special mention to Harries. I thought he added a defensive bite, got clearing head on everything, some great passing bisecting their mid....nice play with Baldwin, special mention because of his clearance off the line and almost scored himself!
Another point was to bring back a win, a deserved win and great performance from being a goal down shows great character.
We're still doomed, but this pattern of play shows we can do something to save ourselves. If we are going down, if we continue to hit those heights of energy and tempo, we'll go down fighting...... pardon the pun on JAB.
Well done, us..... UptheGas!

The logical anticipation is some of remaining games we may play as well not get three points, or play worse and get points, days when other fixtures go for us and times the form-books upset. We are in relegation zone with not many games and rivals with games in hand. We have to go back to the pubs and prepare for relegation. what was different today was extra man in midfield and less greenhorns unwisely dropped into key defensive roles. And although opponents played quite well, we scored two fine goals. To put it down to Joeys coaching methods a bit embarrassing really.

The bad news is Rovers won’t play a team in the form Doncaster are in in their remaining games. Even Northampton are in better form so it’s probably going to come down to confidence and belief and this team has very little confidence and fragile belief. It will be interesting to see Barton’s media tactics this week. I bet he’ll have swung back to hubris and puffery like when he first joined, like the blagger he is. Talking up the players but no doubt taking a lot of the credit for that win for himself.

Similar to the Portsmouth result, to give credit for taking a quarter of a season to get the squad to replicate something that he probably sat in the stands and watched and ignore the utter dross and shambles served up between then and now does seem slightly odd, but whatever, it's 3 vital points. With any luck Punchy will be gone soon and Rovers will still be a L1 club.

I'm not watching, but stats from one site show us 11 shots to their 4 and 9 chances created to their 3. Obviously stats (other than goals scored) mean bugger all, but sometimes, when you're a fan , there can be a tendency to be naturally pessimistic with how you think a game is going ( and probably with good cause when it comes to Rovers!) Yes, it's more of a 'feel' thing When they go forward it feels more likely that they'll score than when we do What game were you watching? I thought you weren't going to watch another game until the Manager was sacked/imprisoned/crucified/burnt at the stake. I hope you had a shower after you watched the game.
