So gas have eight to go and potentially eight wins. Eight to go you never know.
Chance to turn form book upside down.
Joey bring in the youngsters please they are our future.

Good friend of mine down here is a massive Ipswich supporter. Says they've been struggling to score goals lately. Think that may change for them on what is likely to be a Bad Friday for us.

Stats v Ipswich Town are - P41, W16, D9, L16 - We have won 5-1, 4-0 x 2 & drew 3-3 x 2, also have lost 6-1 x 2.
We have played Ipswich mostly in the 1950's when we played 14 times winning 9 and losing just 3.
In march we both scored 6 goals, should be a good close game with only 1 goal in it.
Come on the Gas, fight for your lives and us poor suffering fans.

I predict a heavy defeat and a stone thrown through Ben Garner's window.

I predict a heavy defeat and a stone thrown through Ben Garner's window. I predict we`ll compete reasonably, create a couple of chances that we spurn miserably, then capitulate to a goal or two, that our cloud watching defence fail to deal with. Just like most games, since Barton took over.

We might still get away with eg losing 10 0 but 'the penny drops' enough to of learnt and in the remaining games we pick up enough points to stay up.
From the 6 I don't see any fc 'doing a Burton Ath' and zooming to the top of the form league.
I think it difficult to see our situation improving enough to stay up,but, the ball bounces in mysterious ways.

Is that young lad Jarman ready for his tricky wing play, he could create a few chances

Who in the squad is fit to play today? Kilgour out. Grant doubtful Harries training again.
Think the sick list is Ogogo Nicholson Ehmer Rodman
Could be short in defence and defensive mid field.

Its strange that Ipswich, who sit only 3 points off the play-offs and yet they have only amassed 39 goals this season (gas 36) So with both teams averaging a goal a game, i am a wee bit more hopeful we might come away with a least a point.
So its not over yet, girls and boys, we just have to keep the 'fat lady' stum for 90 minutes. UTG

8 to go, never know?
I think we do. I think we all know.
Never give up while you have a chance, but our best chances have passed. The writing is on the wall bar a miraculous change in form. Which appears to be happening to our counterparts, but not us..... agree with o p play more youth. What have we possibly got to lose?
I struggle to see where we're going to score, let alone draw or win matches? But I really hope I'm wrong..... I'll predict:
Journey 1. Gas.......0.

Tutunda starts! On paper, a good call...
So does continuation of Walker and Martinez.... I honestly can't see with the squad picked, where a stronger line up could be selected?
In essence, these are the cards we have and we'll see what best hand we can make.

We are just playing a team today, not a club. And a struggling one under pressure. Although Tractor Boys appear to be in the frame, they have failed this season. When they visited early in the season, they seemed to have a strong side, and a bench that could make real change not just fresh legs. And an experienced and successful manager who appeared to know what he was doing. They have failed in terms of top two and nailing down promotion. They have struggled in front of goal. Couldn’t stick anything passed Wigan last week.
We can get 4 points from this weekend, it’s not impossible. That would change the picture. A goal or two for us today and Monday and our opponents will be struggling for the 3 they turned up anticipating.
The main caveat, when Wael and Joey met for their love in they appear to have prematurely written off this relegation fight, looking at the inexperienced side put out Saturday in a system we haven’t seen them play.

Looks to me like a similar formation (although different names) to the away game at Gillingham. We were much the better team there in the first half but didn't score. Potentially plenty of chances from more balls over the top and using Walker's pace too. Are we already giving away midfield control though?

Seriously O2, really? not go for a more experienced spine, more streetwise and experienced and physically and mentally developed starting eleven WHEN IN A RELEGATION FIGHT? Use systems they have all played much in their careers and familiar with?

Oz, Westbrooke & Barrett all on the bench. Any chance George Honeyman will come and join us in League Two?!

Potentially plenty of chances from more balls over the top and using Walker's pace too. Are we already giving away midfield control though? if we do not much up in midfield, and very outmanned there, we won’t see much of the ball to have time to be creative, they will knock it around in front our defence, asking questions and getting free kicks. when the energy was up in the 3 4 3 it did sort of work in terms of swirling around having extra man in places. But you only have a finite amount of energy to expend in the 90. Once it’s gone and you have nothing to show for it, you are like a duelist who has fired and missed, the adversary can now take aim. in recent weeks, in what’s an important relegation scrap, Barton has been rubbish. 1. The inexperience of the side he is putting out. 2. Not matching up opponents formations. 3. Trying out whole new largely unfamiliar formations to play in, losing familiarity of partnerships, drills and duties that make strong performance. 4. Expending the teams energy in first half. instead he should. 1. Play the most experienced players available. 2. Keep selection settled. In formations they are familiar with. 3. Pace ourselves into games, keeping shape, keeping it tight, and just playing ourselves into it.

Out of interest, here was our team when we won 2 - 1 at Ipswich in GC's last game: JAAKOLA, KILGOUR, CRAIG, MENAYESE, LEAHY, SERCOMBE, UPSON, O CLARKE, RODMAN, NICHOLS, SMITH. (3-5-2)
No Rodman & Nicholson again today. I'm concerned we'll again bypass midfield and end up in the situations Emperor describes above. 3 - 1 to Ipswich today I fear.
