Surely we must win tonight, if it goes ahead the pitch will still be rubbish, but as they say it's the same for both sides.
Shoot from anywhere in this wind, it will not be a game of great passing skills, Rovers to win 0-2.

If it goes ahead... I'm finding it hard to share your optimism. 50+mph winds on a pitch that looks about as good as the Baseball Ground did in the 70's. A game of hoofball that will see the more physical side win the battle. Both sides on a sh*t run, hopefully we return unbeaten.

not overly optimistic that Coppells heroes will do it tonight mind you good omen as he was born in Liverpool and started his career at Tranmere Rovers in 1973 and might put a good word in to home manager to go easy on his new team ! He has an history degree from Liverpool Uni so will get on well with Alex Rodman.

Yes, born in liverpool, has a degree from the uni there too, started at tranmere and is a Manchester United legend, strange how some things work out. Another operation followed but to no avail, and Coppell announced his retirement from the game in October 1983, aged just 28. He had broken the record for the most consecutive appearances for an outfield Manchester United player – 207 from 1977 to 1981 – which still stands to this day. His Manchester United career ended with 373 appearances and 70 goals; his England career had concluded with 42 caps and seven goals. He also scored the quickest recorded goal at under 18 level in a cup final against Notts County. The goal time was 12 seconds.

An unchanged Rovers starting line up. But Hargreaves named on bench. They are being supplied with flip flops !
Rovers last League visit to Prenton Park was on 8 March 2011 and they picked up only their third win in 22 matches. Dave Penney had been sacked on the Monday, and the player-manager position was taken on by Stuart Campbell, who was given the perfect start to his tenure. Chris Lines scored the only goal, blasting home from the edge of the penalty area after a poor clearance.
Overall the Gas has the better of the results from the 32 games played with 16 victories to Tranmere’s 10.
The games are rarely high scoring affairs, in the 25 games since Tranmere’s 5-2 thrashing of the Gas in 1969/70 season; no side has scored more than 2 goals. The aggregate number of goals in those games is 43, less than 2 per game!
0-0 it is then

Actually on then is it?
Bristol post had Josh Barrel starting in the number 10 role in place of one of the midfield 3 cloggers. Nothing progressive like that then?

Pitch reminds me of the conference season. Hope the result does too
Rovers sensibly hoofing
It's beach football in a strong wind

It's basically rugby tactics for poor weather - play for territory and look to exploit the mistake or penalty that results from the wind or the pitch

Both sides making lots of mistakes, making it interesting
Rovers dominated 1st 15 minutes, much more balanced since then
Caprice has changed a lot since I last saw her

Mitchell Lawson caused a lot of problems early on. Faded as the half progressed and Jake Caprice looks like he has the measure of him now. Much more in the air last 20 mins or so and Trannie playing the better beach hoofball.

Watching on I follow. When you factor in pitch and wind we are merely rubbish in a dogs dinner of a game.

Lot's of complaining to the Ref from both sides, Tranmere just the better first half, plenty of hoof ball, first to score will win it. Bravo to the 200 Traveling Gasheads.

I guess Tranmere will keep pumping it up in the air towards Cooke and Vaughan. Trannie no. 7 looks like he's causing Leahy a bit of trouble.
