Refereed my final game at their old ground (Millmoor) v Scunthorpe. Richard Money played for the visitors and went on to become their manager. In more recent times Gas went to their new stadium and their then manager Steve Evans persuaded a few of us to clear the pitch of snow.Bet he wished we hadn't as despite our lowly position we actually won. When they played at some run down athletics stadium we are miles from the pitch but won it in the final minute when a loanee poss from Charlton scored the winner. Three newbies this time round to give us fresh legs so despite our dreadful form so far this year the omens are hopeful. We need this boys to get our season back on track and lift our spirits. Going back to the snow clearing,a unique phrase in Bristolian when referring to snow is,'Is it Pitching?' Locals up here are most amused when I say this and include' like' in most sentences.

Are they amused, like, when you don't mention Rovers in the thread title?

So a 4 2 3 1? Loaned wingers either side of floater Barrett, Jono up top, giving it a real go from the off?
Nope. Five across back, pack midfield, no one close enough to Jono to make an attack stick, repeat of Coventry game.
Brrrrrrrr

Yes I remember that game. I remember seeing the snow on the Peaks on the train journey over from Manchester (about the most spectacular landscape I've seen from a train in England I'd say) and not really believing there was a hope in hell of the game playing and if did then we'd have naff all chance of getting anything out of it. Then we did play and a very young Ellis tore them apart. That was the key moment in turning it around that season. I was confident we had bottomed out and nothing could do wrong after that......
Similar sense of forboding about taking the same trip tomorrow - hopefully it means a similar result too minus the snow although it was pretty damn cold where I was in Huddersfield today. In reality though it's hard to see us arresting the slide in this one.

We need to rekindle the energy and aggression that got us fourth, but as I can't see that happening we can always hope they get the dizzy heights complex from going top and freeze like statues or a freak snow storm calls it off. I actually feel positive about this one...

I'm gonna be positive and say first double of the season...?
Gas to win 2-1. No Ellis or Dorman magic, we have JCH and a few Wonga's..

If you're looking at doing an accy this has to be one of the home bankers. Logic and form suggests we haven't got a hope in hell. Would love to be proved wrong - but looks like we will lose by at least a couple of goals. Fair play to all Gasheads making the trip. Safe journey.

Five at the back. 2 up So three in middle?
5 3 2. Barrett the advanced of the three so maybe 5 2 1 2
No bad a set up I think.
I still want a 4 3 3 every week with this new squad, but it does need some the incoming who may not have played to a match fitness to be fit.

doing quite well it seems, [at the mo] as HT approaches, not the "into the valley" scene some were expecting

'even first half' Rovers having to defend but keeping the league leaders to long shots only

90 seconds between the goals per RadBris. Both headers following crosses from the right
