Don't really give a rats about the game but will make for a good fitness session for Jonson Clarke-Harris and hopefully Tareiq Holmes-Dennis.

They’ve had a rough reception recently and hope they use this chance to demonstrate intent.

Attendance, 1083. Guess you'll either be delighted or disappointed by that? You'll never guess who didn't score the goal I'm sure he's been saving his energy for the last 10 mins and is about to hit a quickfire hat trick. C'mon Tom!

Just time for Ollie to get himself booked before the final whistle went.
Hope those that attended enjoyed it.
It's a win. No goals conceded. Tom manages to prove, yet again, that he's amongst the most consistent players in the entire League.
What's not to like?

Can't be many teams who's strikers rarely score.

Can't be many teams who's strikers rarely score. Have you seen JCH goals to games ratio? No, I thought not. Btw how's goal machine Ricky Miller doing this season? 🤣

Watched the game on ifollow, considering Swindon were already out of the competition before the game, I was surprised how they stuck to their task, I thought they were equally as poor as Rovers. It was good to see JCH getting more game time and he looked lively and creative, Holmes-Dennis played ok and was good to see him back on the turf. I think if Tom Nichols had an open goal 2 yards out he would miss, something is very wrong with his ability in front of goal, almost always he hits weak/tame shots directly into the keepers arms, or 5 yards wide or over, many times he misses the ball completely with both head and foot, it is uncanny!. Tomlinson looked good when he came on, first time I have seen him play, into the next round we go, if interested!..

JCH is nowhere near his normal self yet. It'll take a few games I reckon. THD, on the other hand, was fit and raring to go, and looked different class when he came on. His pace and quick thinking got us the goal in a dull game that was heading towards a penalty shootout. Fingers crossed he stays fit this time because he is a real asset.

May give us a selection problem on the left. Or go 4-4-2 and play him wide. Leahy deserves to start, he might go right back.

Talking about the goal machine TN, Cocko is reported to have said in an interview (BL) last night:
"The lads love him in there, I have a lot of time for him - I often think of putting him in the car and taking him home to adopt him because I like the kid, he's a great lad..
and,
"He's a great kid and if we can get him going, get him a couple of goals under his belt, then who knows, he may just kick on... [my bold]
if? may?
TN gets pelters from a usually benign set of supporters as he has not scored enough in over 2 seasons full stop.

Odd grumbles when his name is announced, but mostly he's clapped on to the pitch and clapped off again. At plenty of clubs things could have turned a bit hostile towards him long before now. Just look at the situation with Xhaka at Arsenal. He should be grateful and actually pull his finger out of his lazy arse and start repaying some of the loyalty he's been shown for 2 1/2 years. If, and it is an if, the manager said that about adopting him then that's very worrying. It sounds almost as if he feels sorry for Tom. Employing someone or promoting them above their ability through pity isn't something that many successful people will ever do with their staff.

Went to game. It was wierd to be in such a small crowd and I was only one in ticket queue 15 minutes before kick-off. A tenner to sit in East Stand, although my jeans were soaking wet from walking to ground.
Onto match.
Always interesting to watch a match from East Stand. What stood out was the slowness of our play. Everyone wanted a second to look up, especially from the back. Angles of running off the ball were limited, so we tended to telegraph every move. Swindon had their reserves out and we struggled to open them up.
Football people are obsessed with personnel and formations, but the game is about pass and move...at pace.
I maintain what I have said about GC. We are poorly coached, although defensively organised. The end-product is stodgy. A side playing in his own image. Roll your sleeves up, ugly, not pretty.
He said in pre-match interview that he wanted a quick tempo. Impossible with this team. Too much lateral movement of the ball and never enough confidence to drive forwards.
Pros
Craig as an organiser.
Upson's contribution.
JCH's willingness to call out players who don't do basics. He was grumpy as hell with service.
Reserve keeper is commanding.
THD - best player for us. First touch and willingness to get head up and "pass diagonally"
Cons
TN is almost frightened to shoot as he knows it's never going to go in. GC trying to defend the indefensible afterwards? Laughable.
Mark Little - so lightweight in confrontations and lacked a yard of pace when faced with urgent defensive situations. Worrying performance for me.
KB - floats around, but never enough zip or end-product. Compare him to Bodin and you will want to weep.
OC - not a good enough footballer. Full-stop.
So this is not a top 6 League 1 team. Manage your expectations accordingly to avoid disappointment.

Fair weather fans don't you love them...if we reach Final they will want best tickets at Wembley.
The match itself was poor but miles better than Sunday. The Young Swindon side caused us problems fine stop by our Dutchman first half which kept us in match.
The display in second period was transformed after Holmes Dennis introduction he was superb. Set up goal and fine ball control and crosses Leahy will not get his place back
To be fair Ollie played much better than in recent games and Rollin who struggled first half played much better in the second half after switching position with Kilgour.
We all thought penalties would be needed until the scrambled Little goal and by ten the rain had gone off. As we finished top is it correct we will get a HOME tie ?
That side might struggle to beat a hyped up Bromley side next Tuesday.

I thought that it was a shame that Kieran Phillips was not given an opportunity, even as a sub.
An interesting side-note is that Swindon Town were forced by rules to play some first-team players, but 2 of them feigned injury to avoid action.
That really sums up the competition. Players pretending to be hurt so that they don't have to take part.

Yes saw Danny Rose walk off after 5 mins guess their fixture at Salford far more important !
