It was a deserved win but I think County made us look good!
The fans behind me didn't think much of Easter's contribution to the game.

Never heard of him before. I wondered if he was a BBC Nottingham bloke? He seemed to know more than enough about the Rovers so maybe, maybe not. I don't mind KB. Always good for a laugh with his 'not sure what's being said down there...' How could he when he's up in a stand? :-) a couple of years ago the Gas commentary went off so they switched to the City game for a while. They had a former player as expert commentator. I think that's a good idea, could shift it between players over the course of a season. They give a better insight into tactics, etc. We've done that before - Elvis Hammond being my all time favourite And then of course we had the long term partnership of Jamie Shore alongside Richard Hoskin, curtailed I believe due to their persistent doom mongering about the squad of the time. They definitely told it like it was back then. Keith Brookman's fine imo. Plus he can throw in little behind the scenes snippets that we wouldn't get from anyone else.

Just back. Some sublime passing.Easter not good enough and they were poor.Ref brilliant.Best display since Mansfield away.Montano initially not involved but once he scored he was brilliant. Lines very commanding in midfield and Bodin disappeared second half but some excellent displays all round and the new owners must have been impressed.Think our lack of height up front needs addressing but on this display we are a decent team.Vey enjoyable short trip for us.Lovely stadium. So different from Nuneaton a year ago.Lockyer will play at a higher level no doubt. NB.Win Tuesday and we are mathematically safe from relegation. NNB.Sean 'o' Driscoll being sacked in the morning from Walsall, local news reports.Another ex City manager bites the dust again.

Notts County are in a really bad space... seems so familiar yet couldn't be more of a contrast to our situation now. Stewards removing a protesting banner: and a very depressing interview from their captain: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03lmn78

Easter seemed off the pace and he definitely should have had a goal or two. Confidence is a funny thing - he doesn't seem to have any at the moment, Notts County lost any they might have had as soon as we scored, yet Montano who has always seemed fairly average to me looked really good once he'd scored. I really enjoyed Nottingham - got into town at 10, parked at the station all day for £4 and was able to walk everywhere, including taking in a pint at the oldest pint in the country. There's a lot to be said for having a stadium near the centre of town - quite a contrast to places like Wycombe and Colchester, and ....um.......

I don't have too much of a problem with what he's saying, it's the mostly monotone yet high-pitched delivery that's an earache waiting to happen. He's sounded kind of agitated all the way through, even when describing the more mundane events. Having said that, I think he's improved a wee bit over the second half, but it's still a joy in comparison every time KB opens his mouth and says something! Then again, I may have missed a lot of the drivel - I'm convinced that there have been parts of the commentary that only dogs can hear Never heard of him before. I wondered if he was a BBC Nottingham bloke? Radio Gloucester apparently. audioboom.com/boos/447734-football-commentator-bob-hunt-had-placed-a-bet-that-forest-green-rovers-would-win-5-1-when

Weird how actually watching a whole game can give you a different view to just seeing the highlights. Everyone at the game seems to be in agreement that Easter wasn't at his best today, whilst the highlights see him either go close or be involved in the build up of several of our attacks.

Why are folk getting hung up on the below par performance of one player??
We won, well. Every result went for us today, we have a huge game on Tuesday & a great chance to sit very pretty in the play offs.
At least try and enjoy it?! Or does there always have to be someone hung out to dry.
Jayyyyysus.

It was good of JE to step into the breach in the unexpected absence of LL.

You only saw Gary Linekar score goals, the rest of the 88 minutes he went missing!

You're lucky. I've just got back to Macclesfield having driven through a pothole past the "Cat and Fiddle" and wrecking my tyre and wheel. RAC took ten minutes short of four hours to attend. At least the memory of the three points gained today kept a smile on my face!

I actually thought Easter played very well, both he and Taylor formed a good duo. Easter held the ball up well, played the short ball well and tried to get in behind the defence but obviously lacks pace these days. Should really have scored in the 2nd half in a one on one but overall wasn't as useless as some are suggesting. Lets not forget it was mostly him and Taylor forming our attack before Gaffney arrived so lets not be too harsh in our criticism of him (except Mansfield away, that is ).

Watching the highlights it's amazing there were only 2 goals in that game. Could have been 6 or 7.

I thought the commentray was fine. Only criticism is i dont know where we r on the pitch a lot of time. Jog blogs on the ball, joe blogs on the ball 35 yards out would be better I have the same complaint with Bob Hunt's commentary of Gloucestershire games. Sometimes the incidental chit-chat is just as interesting as the game itself, as any fan of Blowers, Tuffers, Aggers and co, on TMS would agree. But the main point is describing to the listener at home exactly what is going on. I want to know exactly on the pitch the ball was struck (a snick to third man / a drive through the covers) and also, as soon as possible, whether they ran 1, 2, or 3. The best cricket commentators, such as Arlott, would ensure they took over from the pundit as soon as the bowler was about to run in. Sitting at home, listening to the wireless, you want to paint a mental picture of the game, which is enhanced if you've been to the ground before.
