HT 0 1. Lofty red carded. I would go 4 4 1 2nd half, with Josh the striker. We're not convincing, but this game is far from over,45 minutes or so actually. 🙂 Bas, Josh has been substituted by Harry Anderson and Scott Sinclair replaces Luke McCormick. Yes,I see BT 👍

iFollow hasn't worked all game, but I can see from the stats we've been completely outplayed yet again.
We are in serious danger of relegation. We basically have a new (and very young) defence + our midfield changes completely from one week to the next. Rossiter may be out for the rest of the campaign too.
It's all very well having good strikers but they don't get any service.
The midfield is our big issue. Central options are not good enough.
We've lost to Accrington, Morecambe, MK Dons and Lincoln in the last few weeks. Much sterner tests await.

We are very poor and haven't had a clean sheet for 11 games. Our stadium is amongst the poorest in the land so perhaps we should after all ,'Lower our Expectations'.

You do have to wonder if the "Barton Affect" theory has some credence. Didn't watch todays game but watched the previous two defeats and while we have been appalling from a form perspective, we are not a 'dirty' team by any stretch.

It starting to look very difficult, now. 13 points adrift, we really need to start going through the gears , if for no other reason but to rule out any relegation worries
However, it now seems to much to make up, and we have been joined by. ‘Big Hitters’ Charlton and Portsmouth who are in the same boat.
I do worry that the nucleus of the squad is to reliant on loan players, so that will need to be addressed at the end of the season.
The likes of Brentford and Brighton and now Wrexham show what can be achieved with the right infrastructure and investment.
So yet another season drifts by, another year older and still absolutely no real belief of a secure and successful future any time soon!

Joey Barton laments 'soul-destroying' decisions but 'proud' of Bristol Rovers in Lincoln defeat..
Joey Barton believes the big decisions of referee Tom Reeves played a decisive role in 10-man Bristol Rovers' 1-0 defeat to Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on Saturday.
The Gas manager described the feeling as "soul-destroying" as he reflected on a contest that swung on a pair of first-half calls. The first was to allow Regan Poole's 14th-minute header despite James Connolly being left on the deck in the box, with Barton certain his defender had been fouled.
Three minutes before the break, the challenge was made even more difficult for the Gas when Ryan Loft was shown a straight red card for violent conduct after colliding with goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, but Rovers intend to appeal and believe the footage supports their case.
After making changes at the interval, Rovers hung in there and created moments of pressure and danger late on, with stand-in skipper Aaron Collins and Harry Anderson seeing penalty shouts turned down before time was called on the contest.
The defeat, their fourth in succession, dropped Rovers to 14th in the League One table ahead of Tuesday's clash with Ipswich Town at the Mem.
"It’s tough," Barton admitted. "The goal we conceded is a foul, not that anyone will care because we’ve lost the game of football. It’s a rugby tackle in the box and where the ball was put in was where James Connolly would have been had he not been pulled to the ground.
"The official misses it and to compound it, we go up the other end. I don’t know what Lofty is doing, he’s saying he’s just trying to protect himself with the keeper coming out.
"The linesman, who is far away as anybody on the opposite side, decides it’s a swinging elbow and they have dismissed him for what must be violent conduct. We’ve got a few different angles that show the contact that was made, which was minimal if any, and we’ll appeal that instantly because we’ll need to if we want him available for Tuesday night.
"We’ll also be sending a few clips. MK did it do us the other day with Sam Finley’s retrospective ban, and there is an elbow in there from (Lewis) Montsma which is beyond the threshold for me. That’s why our players were aggrieved, but nothing given. The linesman misses it and it’s really frustrating.
"I think we had two (penalties not given). Aaron thinks it is and Harry thinks it could have been, but we were never going to get anything off the geezer today.
"Again, it’s soul-destroying. You will text Mike Jones (head of EFL referees) and the PGMOL will send their written reasons back."
Despite the result and his frustration, Barton took pride from his players' efforts despite being a man down for most of the game.
"Unfortunately we’re four defeats on the spin and we have nothing to show for it apart from the character and spirit which was shown by a really young group today," he said.
"That will stand us in good stead. I have seen loads of things I am really proud of from my players today. I cannot fault them today and we’ll be better for that."

Stats: Lincoln 1 BRFC 0 - 56% - 44% - Shots 20-11 - On Target 9-4 - Corners 5-4 - Yellows 0-3 - Reds 0-1 - Referee: Tom Reeves - Attendance: 8,025 (552 Gasheads)An early first half goal from Regan Poole at the LNER Stadium consigned Bristol Rovers to a fourth league defeat in a row. In a bright opening start for the home side their first chance fell to Jack Diamond whose shot was blocked and Ellery Balcombe gathered easily. Ted Bishops then swung in a deep free-kick which was headed by Paudie O’Connor but Balcombe tipped the dipping attempt over the crossbar. The home side take did take the lead on 14 minutes when Rovers failed to deal with a corner into the box. Imps’ captain Regan Poole found himself unmarked at the back post and made no mistake with the finish to put the hosts a goal ahead. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/e1d1d21c725c47fd8c975892757aa85a/jmp_lincoln_city_v_bristol_rovers_rs_060.jpgRovers could have gone two down soon after some good play from Bishop again. He turned and pivoted inside the box, but Balcombe got down to make the save and then again to deny Poole on the follow-up at the near post. Rovers were struggling to gain a foothold in the game but some nice interplay down the right between Josh Coburn and Aaron Collins, captaining Rovers for the first time, saw the ball worked down the line, but Collins couldn’t dig out a cross from the byline and the ball sailed behind. Midway through the first half Rovers had their best chance. Coburn robbed Lewis Montsma on the halfway line and played a through ball to Collins. Collin raced away but Rushworth stood strong to palm the ball away and Coburn following in saw his goalbound shot blocked from close range. Things got worse for the Gas with five minutes to play of the first half as they were reduced to ten men. Chasing after a long ball over the top Loft made a challenge on Rushworth and referee Tom Reeves reached for his pocket to send him off. In added time Ben House found space in the box and turned and fired a low shot that Balcombe again got down to keep it out as Rovers trailed by one goal heading into the break. The first chance of the second half fell the way of Rovers when they were awarded a free kick in a central position after Collins drew a foul. Antony Evans stepped up to take and was only denied by Rushworth diving across his goal to push the ball away. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/e1d1d21c725c47fd8c975892757aa85a/jmp_lincoln_city_v_bristol_rovers_rs_090.jpgA mistake from Jarrell Quansah allowed Diamond to go in on goal but the defender did well to get back and make a last-minute recovery challenge, aided by Balcombe coming off his line, to prevent a second goal for Lincoln Heading into the final20 minutes, substitute Harry Anderson played the ball out wide to Collins. The Welshman then did brilliantly to cut inside his man and get a shot off, although it lacked power and was comfortable for Rushworth. Up the other end Luke Plange picked up the ball in a dangerous position inside the area but his shot was too powerful and cleared the crossbar. The Imps then had a second chance in close succession as Bishop found himself in virtually in the same position as Plange minutes earlier but he too could only fire over. Lamare Bogarde and John Marquis were brought on by Barton in a final roll of the dice to try and get his side back into the contest. The two were involved almost immediately as Bogarde played a smart ball through to Anderson. Anderson then crossed into the box where Marquis was lurking but the ball just wouldn’t fall for him inside the six-yard box. In a frenetic finish at the LNER Stadium the Gas piled on the pressure to force an equaliser. The referee waved away a penalty appeal after Collins went down in the box and the on the counterattack Plange cut infield and his deflected shot nearly squeezed in. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/e1d1d21c725c47fd8c975892757aa85a/jmp_lincoln_city_v_bristol_rovers_rs_096.jpgLate on the Lincoln box came under siege with a series of long throw-ins from Anderson, yet the Gas couldn’t take advantage as they fell to defeat. Next up for Rovers is a Sky Bet League One game at the Mem on Tuesday 14th February against Ipswich Town.
