5 points off play offs. +3 gd. In other 4th tier news... FGR 0 Walsall 1.Michael Flynn now Walsall manager. Oldham move out of bottom 2....Oldham are the most improved team in the bottom half, with 3 wins and 2 draws in the last 5 games. Only Hartlepool with 3 wins and 4 draws from 7 and Exeter with 6 wins and 2 draws from 8 can beat them.

Yep,with the Grecians putting their feet up before next Saturdays game at the Mem due to todays postponement, while we would of battled Stevenage and Orient. 6 points off Walsall may be better than many will take, now Micheal Flynn is their manager. Edit. Swindon,Sutton,Northampton and Salford have to play Walsall.🙂

The shirt is doing ok. I wore it when me and Señora F went out for a meal last week. I know you can "only beat what's put in front of you", but we are doing that regularly now. Great eh? 👍⚽️🏴☠️ Good to hear the shirts seen some action. From the moment I realised JB was serious about sorting out the off field stuff and WAQ was clever enough to allow Joe to do just that - therefore build a team for a team game - ,then give him time to get the on field sorted - all Joe needed was time - I became a believer. It's abit odd,but because of how the Rovers are run now,it's one of the best seasons I can remember. I'm tempted to say the best! Loving this JB era. Again as I said above we have done nothing yet, but the quality throughout this team and depth in every position is something I don't think we have seen before. If we were to go up this year then we would have such a strong base to attack L1 as well. This period really does feel like in our Conference season under DC and in 2007.

I hope you are right Bas as i never wish for my team to lose. IF we do manage to get into them play off berths then i hope we have our defence sorted by then, there is nothing like playing in a winning side and, if you have ever played any team sport then you cannot wait to play again. Let’s hope this is not the rovers of old, who let forward momentum slip. It will make for some problems with contracts next season as i am sure our results have alerted scouts. Will Wael open his wallet and keep our best players, if they want to stay ? We have loans to deal with too. Anyway, another win and another 3 points, win our game in hand on Swindon and we are one point behind them Get down the Mem and reassure yourself KP.👍 Edit. 270 minutes without conceding a goal.😉 If you count the last 70 minutes v Oldham as well it’s 340 minutes. Whichever, the defence is looking more secure. And all from playing a back 4, I presume they did that today. Having a more secure defence allows the rest of the team more confidence to play. Well done the team and JB today. UTG!

Yep I've been thinking how we actually have a 3rd tier quality team now. We just have to make sure we get back there.

That Oldham game crossed my mind when doing my 9 × 3 = 27 arithmetic Wareham, glad you checked or knew.👍 Yes,the defence looks sorted and makes the whole team happier.

Some of the football served up by Rovers today was sublime. I suppose you have to temper the natural delight with the thought that Stevenage were really not very good, we took control of the midfield more or less from the start and the 3 man Stevenage midfield, with a combined age approaching 100 years, just couldn’t get close.
Full credit to the Gasheads, loud and raucous all 90 minutes. The journey from Parkway to Paddington (everything from Temple Meads was cancelled) was cosy, to say the least, but we got there I’m the end. When we got back to Stevenage station Wael was on the platform waiting for the train back to St Pancras. Shook his hand and thanked him for allowing JB to build such a great squad. He is a very gracious man and you can’t help but like him.

Again, a good result but until we are in the top six, we are not meeting the most minimum of requirements and are underachieving. People are getting a little carried by a few good results. Both the PT and DC promotion teams were superior. Crucially, both teams were also made up of players that were actually ours. Its very easy to be charming when things are going well. Wael seems pleasant enough when things are going well, but has previously shown himself to be overly defensive and an extremely poor judge of character/ability, as his employment of Starnes and Widdrington demonstrated. His handling of the whole Barton affair has also left more than a little to be desired.

There are some seriously grumpy people about. 1 defeat in 10, 3 games without conceding, injured players almost ready again and the team on an upward trajectory, yet still..."it's not good enough".
Give it a rest.

Only Hartlepool with 3 wins and 4 draws from 7 and Exeter with 6 wins and 2 draws from 8 can beat them. It reinforces the argument that Oldham were not as bad a team as their league position implied, as it just looked like one of them inept gas performances you come to expect every now and again.
Nevertheless, It was also a great ‘reality check’ for our young team and they haven’t looked back since UTFG

PT had Joe Jacobson on loan who was then unavailable for the final as loan expired. In both promotions DC used the loan market, though some did not start much. We possibly stand a chance of turning Connolly and Thomas into permanent signings but no chance of Anderson or Taylor. Doubt Spence would want to join. If we can sign the first two then good business I would think.

He was charming and polite to fans who approached him, I wouldn't class that as a day when things had gone well.

Fantastic result yesterday, 4-0 wins do not happen very often. Well done to both the team and manager.
Exactly what we needed, and did the following:
1. Kept us on track for hitting the playoffs by the end of the season. 2. Improved our goal difference. 3. Improved morale amongst the players and the fanbase. 4. Gave the travelling Gasheads a truly memorable away day.
This was also not an isolated performance either, the Sutton United game should have been a similar result. This team is playing with supreme confidence and if that continues until the end of the season we are in for a cracking few months (and we have certainly deserved it!).
Onward and upwards Gasheads. Enjoy the ride!

And he should also have asked him to drop James Daly and Chris Lines (who used to be a very good player) as well so that we could have a better idea of if the 4-0 result is actually significant.

If we can sign the first two then good business I would think. Trollope's attitude to the loan market was very different - he believed the club should only loan players that it would consider/have a chance of buying. Jacobson was subsequently signed. Barton's attitude seems more similar to that of championship/league clubs who are happy to basically be development teams for the leading Premiership clubs. Our list of loan failures is considerably longer than the successes. And look at Yeovil for a startling insight into where overreliance on the loan market will eventually take you.

But yes, he has repeatedly demonstrated a tendency to hide away from entirely justified criticism. His conduct during Barton's 'Holocaust' controversy was actually cowardly. It seems that when the going gets tough, Wael gets going.
