With Coutts as our midfield general i think like his passing we will be looking backwards for the rest of the season.

FT - Oldham 2 BRFC 1 - Possession 29-71 - Shots 13-8 - On Target 5-5 - Corners 6-8 - Fouls 11-15 - Referee (you can't make it up): Scott Oldham - Attendance: 5,147.
Match Report From the BBC:
Gutsy Oldham hung on to secure a hard-earned 2-1 victory against in-form Bristol Rovers.
Davis Keillor-Dunn's clinical double handed John Sheridan's men a second straight win as they moved to within two points of escaping the League Two relegation zone.
Rovers' recent progress was checked thanks to a first defeat in seven games.
Oldham went ahead after only 41 seconds. Nicky Adams headed into the path of Keillor-Dunn and he rifled into the roof of the net from eight yards.
Ten minutes later Rovers' Aaron Collins saw a crisp low drive superbly saved by Danny Rogers.
Inspired Oldham doubled their lead in the 31st minute as Keillor-Dunn struck again, lashing home from close range following Carl Piergianni's knock-down.
Rovers halved the deficit just before the break when early substitute Sam Nicholson coolly converted Collins' low cross.
Rovers' Sam Finley forced Rogers into another excellent save soon after the restart.
Oldham replied with Junior Luamba being denied by the diving Anssi Jaakola, while Callum Whelan's late strike thumped the crossbar.
Adams then forced Jaakola into another fine stop in the closing minutes.

Best team won. We sounded poor. What's possession if you don't attack and create chances. Think we're 8 points off 7th place. 3 points gone, but it is only 3 points. The season still lives. Edit. Oops, make that 10 points off 7th place as Grecians hit a 94th minute winner v Leyton Orient. The O’s are a surprise flop.

What a let down that was! Timid, unintelligent performance, only one team looked interested in winning. For a team supposedly chasing promotion, can’t understand how a display like that can be served up. Not one player came out of that with any credit, disorganised in defence, mind boggling sloppy passing for most of the game. Nicholson and Thomas came out with some credit.

Like I said page 1, these kind of games arn’t the roll over, play poor get result they may have been a few months ago. League table pretty meaningless now till end of season, those at bottom will scrap like hell, those at top WILL get nervous as hell against us especially if on run of two bad results going into it - the threat from Mansfield for example, is that from league table or form table?
Players didn’t perform well tonight. There is some criticism too for Joey. Not for first time this season the team looks bemused what shape they should be after substitutions. And not for the first time this season, despite a large squad bequeathed him by chairman’s generosity, there is this suspicion Joey plays players who are unfit or lacking match sharpness ahead of players who are fit? he’s rotating players and systems just a little too much?

The commentary frequently described Coutts as a quaterback - he was the third defender who lumped either the hell-mary ball hoping for luck or he played simple passes to players either side of him too casually.
He must have had such a poor passing accuracy this game. Second to Harries who either had an off game or was not in the right frame of mind to play to his ability.

Didn`t see it. Left the supporters` club bar, and stopped at the pie hut to buy, er, a pie, and heard the roar from the home crowd. The evening got no better.

Slept on it and hav'nt seen even highlights yet ,but this defeat feels a bad one.
Unnecessary changes?
JB losing sight of the prize (3 points) with too much attention to a fancy dandy 'squad selection'?
Lattics are fighting for their lives their man is back as Manager/John Sheridan and they had visibly played at a quickish tempo against the Iron on Saturday.
Surely we needed a strong 11,solidity,not the fragile set up JB chose.
The old catchphrase "anyone can beat anyone in this division " may well be true, but I don't think Saturdays opponents Mansfield Town quite fit that category right now,as their form is so bloody good!
Last nights game should of set us up nicely for a 'big Mem game'.Our fragility will be exposed by Cloughies Stags if we don't significantly buck up.
Also, due to our rubbish performance and Grecians 94th winner against the O's,we are now a whole 10 points off seventh place.
Hopefully last nights thorough disappointment will act as a motivation for Saturday.

True, I have no criticism of him, I should have made it clear I was talking about the outfield players. Watched the match on IFollow, and was probably too angry after watching that feeble performance. The first goal was such a sloppy goal to concede in the opening minute, and set the tone for the rest of the match.

I did say we have been riding our luck and we should have lost that by more. We just haven’t got a worthy defence and have been lucky to score a few. We will get a tanking soon if this carries on as luck balances out. JB has failed to address and shore up the defence

Ah, the cheery brigade are out in force. 4 defeats in 17. Last night was a definite hiccup, but it's not all over by a long shot.

That's absolutely spot on DrF and although I think last night an absolute 'cock up', I imagine Joe will sort it out. In the scenario our general good form continues then we will challenge.

Seen highlights.
Awful goals conceded.
Anssi made a couple of good saves.
I suppose we'll never know if that one Oldham shot actually crossed the goal line.
