This is how I saw the other night.
I lost my voice cheering for the first time in a year after Rodman scored, as soon as he cut inside I knee he would score.
I was wary going into it but confident that JB would use the 6-1 to motivate the team.
Luke Leahy has really stepped up this season. Yes he has a mistake in him and is not a good crosser always but he is a defender first and a very good player to have in your team. The stick he got when he first arrived was unjustified. What a vital goal that was. I think it was Leahy who blocked that shot in the box 2nd half, a real statement of they shall not pass.
Alex Rodman has always been a favourite of mine, even when he played against us. I hope he signs for another year in the summer. He is the best winger we have had for a number of years and we really missed him this season.
Nicholson has that goal in his locker and we have missed that too, he deserved it.
I thought Upson scored but pleased it was Westbrooke, what a great pass by McCormick who had a real point to prove on the night.
I didn't think we would get that penalty even though it looked like assault and would be given if outfield players.
Ayunga was outstanding all night, held it up but he wins headers and his turn and driving run in the first half was superb. He shows Hanlan how to do it.
Again we made the opposition look poor. I would say we have only really dropped 4-6 points now under Barton as we should've beat Wigan but should have got at least a point v Burton, Hull was maybe one too far.
Absolutely have to win Saturday, we have a new man in charge who will hopefully give the players the belief and keep their feet on the ground after such a big win.
That's the blueprint, he can use it until the end of the season and they should not fear playing anyone.
Well done boys, and JB.
The starting line up away from home was
Day
Leahy
Williams
Kilgour
Ehmer
Grant
Westbrooke
McCormick
Oztumer
Nicholson
Hanlan.
It doesn't say anything about those 4 who didn't start Tuesday as we may still have won with them, but it does say a lot about the difference between Tisdale and Barton.
