Perfect outcome for me. I know I should want Rovers to win every game - and I did yesterday- but I would have been gutted to get a glamour draw that we couldn't go to. It was good to see we weren't scared to give it a go, hearing PT shout 'Stay up' at the players when we needed a goal was a breath of fresh air. It should be noted that that was a very strong Sheffield United line up and not the kind of weakened side many Premier League teams put out in this competition.
Very disappointed in the MOTD coverage , they just focused on Sheffield United and how this result would help them in the league, barely mentioned us.

Ah well, Rex, that's MOTD for you - Premier focused and Premier obsessed. It was ever thus. I like Alex Scott but her total ignorance of Rovers was disappointing, leaving a one-liner from Dublin that Rovers "were magnificent". Hey ho.

It wasn't just me that saw it like that then, I thought I may have been getting paranoid. I often hear presenters banging on about the magic of the cup, but the way they discussed the game made it seem like some kind of pre season friendly before the real stuff begins.

This is the reason why MoTD is NEVER on in this house ,as if there was no other football outside this league, until about 4games from the end of the season and discuss who is likely to be promoted from the chumpionship

I find I struggle to listen to some, have done for years and can find myself mumbling or sounding dismay and strong disagreement in the direction of radio or goggle box.
I think Mark Clement does a good job. Friendly, respectful ,has a sense of humour and is knowledgable.
Back in the day I thoroughly enjoyed Saint & Greavsie.

Talking of Nichols (well someone was earlier in this thread) I see Crawley - Leeds is on BBC1 this afternoon. Think I'll give it a watch to pay homage to Millwall Tone and shout out for Tom who I always liked despite his appalling record, and who at least seems to have found out what his feet are for again. Also Leeds are about the only premiership team worth watching as they don't pack their defence when they come up against someone better than them - mind you they might today if Nicholls is on fire! (I never thought I'd find myself saying that). There's been a really heavy frost up here - might be a leveller?

Don't that beat all! Watching Chelsea v Morecambe on red button. They've shown goals from yesterday during the halftime break - except it's only the winning goal by Bogle from our game.

No, I noticed it as well. They minutely looked at other incidents and had missed completely the possible foul on Baldwin for a Sheffield United goal. And when Alex Scott, who I think is good, called us Bristol that just about did it! Unfortunately they either didn’t do their homework about us or know very little about football outside the PL. But I’m not surprised, apart from Quest, no one gives any consideration to lower league football. When the FA Cup comes around the BBC tries to pretend they know something about lower league teams but fail. In the Crawley v Leeds match, Jonathon Pearce was talking about the Crawley team and with 3 ex-gasheads playing I thought we’d get a few mentions but it was only half way through the second half that he mentioned us. Mind you that might be because he’s a s***head and he didn’t want to mention us rather than just ignorance. Hey ho. UTG!

I watched about 10 minutes of it and heard the same. Pearce trying to big up the sh*t when 99% of the country (if you are old enough) can only remember the Colchester / Dirty Leeds game...

I honestly can't remember when I last put it on. I lost interest quite a few years ago. BBC punditry seems to have gone downhill. The eulogising of the premiership just grates. Part of the disenfranchisement of 'real supporters'. Perhaps behind closed doors and without any supporters, it highlights the relatively poor product. I can't even be bothered with Quest. I just watch Bristol Rovers on iFollow, Union Berlin highlights and the occasional Sabadell game on Youtube - that's it for me for the moment. Conclusion: Without an emotional connection to the soccerball, I can't be arsed.

To think anything else is to some extent missing the point

All winners of 3rd round receive £61,500.
That's alot of money for us, let alone the likes of Chorley etc..
