Maybe, but I feel more confident in us under Clarke and at.least feel we are trying to build something on the field and at least have a manager who is hungry and trying to go somewhere You do you realise you've lost at home to Chesham Utd and just lost to Crawley Town right?! Your rose tinted glasses wearing view is admirable but to say that's building something, fk me I would love to see what you're building? It seems like it's made of sand mate. First stage of rebuilding is admitting reality. my view of reality ..is when does moneybags realise that the geezer running your crew is not up to the job, but were happy with that the blue side of the river ,,

Absolutely. Coupled with the fact there are those supporters who just raise their poisonous heads when we lose and return to their bitter, twisted hovels when we win. These people are not supporters. These people have a gripe with one section of the Football Club, certain board members, and crucify everything Rovers in the process. They know the shambles what Is Rovers but just need their scapegoats when the Rovers lose. If I were them, thank f I am not, then I would not see any reason to bother with Rovers. God help all that are unfortunate enough to be their nearest and dearest! I respect and give my sympathies to you. I do not think we should go into the old argument of what makes a 'supporter' it's counter-productive and divisive. The fact that they come out and comment shows they care in some way and I would put them closer to the wanting promotion end of the spectrum. Yes some people are rather blinkered and continuously vent their spleen in the direction of NH, DC, the bod, Watola, the price/quality of the catering etc and others may find that irritable, but in some way they remain involved within the club. I would much rather have a moaner (it's human nature after all) in the stands, than to see them walk away. Hang on a minute. You raised the point and I added to it. Which maybe too close to the bone for some but a valid point all the same. You say it is devisive raising the supporter issue when that is just what they do. Always after a defeat. Never after a win. Walking away should be the best option for those who are continually made bitter by Rovers or anything else in life which effects their 'normality'. Their poor families, that's all I will add.

So what is the right argument? Give me a bit, and I will paint the relative performance of our club in relative terms. Ah well - maybe there isn't any paint anywhere.

There are no Conference players in our team anymore Bamber. Just inconsistent League players. You reckon? I can prove it.

Yes - I believe that the players in our squad are league footballers on the basis that they are, um, playing league football. Do people come out of the womb with their League status tatooed across their forehead? How does this approach account for someone like John Oster? He used to play in the Premiership - he now plays in the Conference. Does this make him a 'Premiership player' or a 'Conference' player? Maybe you have to complete some kind of ritual - missing 10 penalties in a row, going studs up into tackles etc. It is incredibly depressing that we lose at places like Crawley (and 10 times more indicative of the current state of the club than a fluke cup result against a Non-League side). But, I am not going to be lectured on how still enjoying being a Rovers fan somehow means I validate the current position of the club. It is a false argument. There is nothing remotely contradictory about enjoying the experience of supporting Rovers while at the same time acknowledging that it is a disgrace that we are lightyears from where we should be.
