But was it a complete antidote to the England defeat?

But was it a complete antidote to the England defeat? Sort of, the England game was a very painful experience but I know where my loyalties lie. Given a choice of a Gas win over an England victory in the one dayer... no contest COYB...

winning ugly today ..gave the ball away so easily ...Taylor should have scored in the one on one with the keeper...wonder what they do in training with Blissett ..feel he is a poor player, bad touch, no football brain and lacks physical presence ..hope Easter is fit soon ...we need his experience and also the energy of Sinclair ...tries hard but Lockyer is not a midfielder ..Parkes was immense again today. Our defence is excellent and the race for the top is certainly on after the results today Have to agree, Blissett was very poor today. Both Taylor and Harrison better in the air. I'd try these two from the start until Easter is ready. Ellis did enough to justify a start on Tuesday.

Another Bees quote, this fella isn't very optimistic after their failure today bless him:
Yes we're still top but not for much longer. Someone also mentioned the Altrincham moment of several seasons ago , well, we're there next week with almost perfect timing, no win away since Aldershot, not optimistic at all. Alty must have some resilience to have only lost by 1 today.

Although it was a poor scrappy game most of this afternoon our defence as usual was superb and as has been said before that whilst a good attack will win you games, a good defence will win you titles, lets hope that proves to be true in our case this season......UTG !

This is mad, what on earth is the referee on? Personally I thought Rovers were very lucky not to give a pen away at that point, and it should of been an indirect freekick to Alty for obstruction. I can't remember who it was, but a defender blocked a cross, then sat on the ball, the Alty players were then trying to kick the ball out (or the player), and another rovers player ran over and pushed the Alty player over, when the ref blew the whistle, I thought he was going to point to the spot! Thank feck he didn't!

Thank feck he didn't! It was McCrystal who led on the ball with the Alty players trying to kick out from underneath him, not sure who pushed their player over but I think it might have been Lockyer. Squeaky bum time for us all towards the end, was I SO glad the linesman's flag went up for offside when the ball went in our net, not sure my heart could have taken much more, why do we make it so hard for ourselves

There did seem rather a lot of pointless booting the ball to no one in particular at times and whilst I don't want to be critical of the players what I can never understand is why Mildenhall constantly kicks the ball from hand down the pitch to our smallest player on the pitch Matty Taylor, hasn't he noticed that Blissett is about 15 inches taller and should be his target.

....also, I think that's the first time an opposition player has clapped the Blackthorn End on his substitution? (!)
Credit to Altrincham, they arguably had the better midfield and were on us from the start without letting us settle. I liked their ethic and they tried to get something from the game.
For a part time outfit, they done good.

Bridgeman, I am much more confident in Taylor winning a header than Blissett. Blissett seems to get shorter when it comes towards his head, it's as if he sinks into the ground. For his height he is very weak and very, very, VERY poor at heading it.

Apart from when he has a chance to score with his head when he seems very, very, VERY capable.
Lack of service is his problem, he's shown himself to be a decent finisher.

I feel slightly sorry for him as I don't think we are providing him with the right type of service for him to be succesfull

This is the second game in a row we have played where neither team has had a corner wonder what the record is for this

Don't go by the BBC statistics for the Conference. They are incomplete (eg corner-count).

Perhaps he`s noticed that Blissett is about as good in the air, as one of those statues on Easter island. Kicking the ball to Taylor is far more likely to be productive.
