I am not optimistic for a good result this afternoon, although this is a game we would look to get something from.
If we can keep a clean sheet, then anything is possible. Hopefully we can nick a tight 1-0 win.

it seems the wind has gone from even Bas' sails Well I've said give the bloke a chance, but it ain't looking good. I said if the two old forwards signed were fit and hungry, then that could work out.Well they're not fit and look poor signings. Occasionally something can happen in a team that sees them click into action and become an effective team.I can't see this happening. There has to be some tangible improvement or potential, over the next two games to keep JB in his job because we can't afford to fall too far off 3rd.Thats of course 3rd from bottom. We seem to of entered that all too familiar phase where it seems bar a minor miracle the manager will soon lose his job. Our chances of challenging - an achievement I thought would happen - appear to be receding quicker than hair line.

Andy Tillson should never have been sold to Walsall at the time. Terrible bit of business. The name Walsall is derived from "Walh halh", meaning "valley of the Welsh" Walsall became internationally famous for its leather trade. Walsall is the traditional home of the English saddle manufacturing industry, hence the nickname of Walsall Football Club, "the Saddlers". Apparently they will be wearing their full body leather home kit for this match as a commermoration to their history. Noddy Holder MBE (born 1946 in Caldmore) musician and actor, lead singer and guitarist in glam rock band Slade. Arguably Walsall's best ever player was Gilbert Alsop, born in Frampton Cotterill, scorer of 126 goals in 160 games. Another one that got away. People blame the sale of Cureton and Roberts for our demise post 2000. I felt at the time the loss of Andy Tillson was even worse. I always remember the strikers as our heroes, but the best player I really ever saw in the quarters was Andy Tillson. Absolute quality Tilson was rubbish in his first six months, far worse than Ehmer in his first six months.

Walsall Home form (last 4 games) - Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 1. Rank 10/24 Goal difference +1 Rovers Away form (last 4 games) - Won 0 Drawn 1 Lost 3. Rank 23/24 Goal difference -5 Bookies unsurprisingly have Walsall as favourites to win at 11-8, Rovers win 2-1, the draw 11-5. Rovers are currently outside of the relegation zone by virtue of Bristol coming before Scunthorpe in the alphabet. What a great re-set it's been so far. Our chances of "challenging" would appear to be receding. Could we improve our situation by renaming as AFC Bristol Rovers? It would be a long way back and some of us probably wouldn't see us as a league club ever again.

The wait is over! It’s coming folks. An away win.
Barrow a - should get something EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Crawley relegation candidates h - we will win EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Pool a - toughie, but why not a draw EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS a little bit wrong Orient h - covid victims Harrogate went there and won, so a home win EMPEROR SUPERBUS bit more than a little bit wrong Walsall relegation candidates a - we will win Swindon h - doesn’t bear thinking about losing, there will be loads of aggression to Ben and lots of pro Barton support in this noisy derby fixture, I predict win Carlisle a - why not at least point
Let the facts speak for themselves. Let’s get this sequence of difficult tricky games out the way. And then LET THE FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES 5 unbeaten in 7 with 11 points from 21 will be respectable for a team still gelling waiting to click, can’t argue with that. CAN’T SACK A MANAGER WITH THAT RECORD Can you!
Took Bolton a long time to click last season, go look what happened.

And it wasn’t as cheap as first glance, even a couple of weeks ago Barrett’s got acceptable offer from club so boss can bung some lolly at the oldies he need. And then a couple of weeks later it’s sane for owner to sack him? He is safe till February. All the pre season pundits never get it this wrong, it’s just such massive turnover needs time to bed in, everyone except some impatient fans suspect we will be up there end of season. Don’t forget some fans didn’t like manager from day 1, were never prepared to give him a chance, never gave his rebuild any patience.

Whatever goes on,a club has to pick up a few points. We're seriously struggling on that basic requirement. GC turned things around pretty quickly. JB expected to be at least mid table by now,he has admitted that so far he has failed. I hope there can be real improvement over the next two games or real signs JB is on to something.

2 teams below us and the 2 above us all have what look like tough fixtures today.
3 points would make the table look a lot healthier come 5pm.
Surely it's got to be 'now or never' time for Punchy?
