Ah, the conspiracy of officials against us? One of joeys more laughable comments which looks more embarrassing as time passes lets face it, before the all important goal the officials gave the time wasting visitors defender a very soft free kick. Everyone else is agreeing with that. Joey has every right to point out the game turning moment was us being let down by the ref. Ah, ok 😂 😂

Barrow a - should get something EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Crawley relegation candidates h - we will win EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Pool a - toughie, but why not a draw EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS wrong. But only by a little bit. Orient h - covid victims Harrogate went there and won, so a home win for us today. EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS wrong. But only by a little bit + a little bit more. Walsall relegation candidates a - again we will win. Away. Swindon h - doesn’t bear thinking about losing, there will be loads of aggression to Ben for the mess we are in these days, and lots of pro Barton support in this noisy derby fixture, I predict win. (Just don’t go too far into violence lads). Carlisle a - why not at least point
Once everyone calms down, from this set of awkward fixtures it can still be a respectable 5 unbeaten in 7 taking 11 or 13 from 21 points - no arguing with that being respectable because it factually is.
The only thing to add, which is true, we sacked Garner far too soon, are we going to keep making that mistake season after season? Is that the club you want?

Then how do you know it’s awful then? What exactly is awful? what makes it better? First shot on target was the penalty, that's awful. Creativity and scoring a reasonable percentage of chances would make it better. “ Creativity and scoring a reasonable percentage of chances would make it better. “ That is precisely the thing most wrong last season isn’t it? To be very honest, I think we actually carried more threat all through last season than shown this season.

Just got back....
Wtf!? Oh dear.
If anyone took a checklist of things that we could have got wrong, we didn't get right, almost everything negative would have been tick boxed today.
In times of troubles, you look to leadership...a manager....it isn't working.
Fair play to orient....I like their number 18, and of course Beckles had another fine game against us, but we made it easy for them.
Why are we playing josh grant at right back? Where's Hoole? Grant is not a flank player....he tried his best, but was obviously out of his depth.
Anderton rightly subbed, but it should have been after the first goal. Awful.
Taylor missed a header from a first phase set piece attack (given for a ridiculous hand ball that should never have been given), and no one thought to close down shot hey 2-0 with our defence looking around at each other.
No idea in possession. Whelan Finley Brown never connected, made triangles, passed fluently or looked comfortable on the ball....things kinda improved 2nd half with Luke Thomas but the game has already been conceded by then.
Ok.....ref and L O antics didn't help, but this is 4th division FFS, we were all warned last season about how important it was not to get relegated into this godawful division. We can't excuse this but not allow it to be distraction, but ultimately:
IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH. A DISGRACE. PATIENCE IS RUNNING THIN.

I think we may of reached the magical 'nil shots on target' a couple of times last season, not sure, but goals win games (with a reasonable defence). It's been awful since GC departed. 8 games played and I think we're 1 off bottom.

Did anyone expect a different result, scoreline, performance today?
It's frustrating but give him 20 games. Not 8.

JB is still confident we will be on the promotion shake up according to his post match interview.
He is still praising us fans support. He said this is his most difficult period in his coaching career.

Everyone else is agreeing with that. Joey has every right to point out the game turning moment was us being let down by the ref. It happened right in front of where I stand. It looked to me like their defender slipped as Collins went past him and ran into their box, but the ref brought play back for a push. I`d have to see it again, but there really didn`t seem to be any contact.
Having said that, the "game turning moment", arrived when the referee blew his whistle to start the game. Leyton Orient looked like a proper, well organised, competently managed side.
We looked like a team of decent individuals, managed by someone who appears to have very little idea of how to put it all together. Sending the team back out onto the pitch, after only five minutes of the half time break, won`t endear Barton to the players either. Early days, but we seem to be in spiral of self destruction.

Good away turnout by Orient. Their fans were large in number any fairly vocal all game. They have a good shot at promotion based on what I saw today.
An early headed goal from Orient, largely against the run of play. From my vantage point in the South West stand, it looked fairly soft.
The second Orient goal conceded not long after, following good approach play from the right. Orient reacted to a loose ball in the box and a nice finish to the bottom corner eluded Belshaw. I didn't have the best angle to see but it looked like Belshaw had little chance. It was a well executed low show. Unfortunately.
A third, again from build up play from the right. A simple cross met with a header from 10 yards. Belshaw unlucky not to keep it out, but it just crossed the line.
The game turned nasty and niggly as the half wore on. It felt like someone was going to get sent off before the game is up. Leyton Orient are very streetwise and know which buttons to press to wind our players up.
0-3 at half time and The Gas leave the field to a Chorus of boos.
Dreadful, dreadful half. To be fair, Orient did not have many clear cut chances but they scored them all. We look lost and low on ideas going forward.
Second half was much better, we had more control over the game. This may be because the game was lost and Orient had settled for the win.
What I did not understand was the constant time wasting tactics from Orient in the second half. It's not like they were defending a narrow 1-0 lead, the game was won!
The Gas got a consolation goal through a late penalty, converted by Pitman. Let's face it, that was the ONLY way we were going to score today.
The referee was annoying, constantly wanting to stop the game. Just to be clear before I watch the post-match JB interview, the ref did not affect the outcome of this game at all.
Leyton Orient were simply better than us, plain and simple.
Brown looked lively. Finley had a good game in the centre of the park, chasing everything. Saunders and Thomas tried to get some energy into our attack towards the end.
So, game 8 in the league is over and we sit three points off the bottom in 22nd. I feel confident in saying that this is not where we expect to be! I will leave it at that!

Barton is dour, his players are dour, his playing style is dour and the antics of harassing officials is childish and pathetic. I cheered every goal today and wanted at least six just to rub it in. I want him gone

Can't agree with some of JAB post match comments.....he said there was not much between the teams today.
Totally disagree.
At half time, 3 shots on target by L O, ours read 0....the game was already lost, so everything in second half was kinda false, where we did eventually have 2 shots on target (1 being a penalty).
Deluded words. JAB is watching a complete different game to me where we struggled to get our foot on the ball, and when we did make simple passes ... We're at home FFS!?
A poor performance, it should be acknowledged as unacceptable and if this is the level JAB expects to be happy performing, bye bye asap....

Officials doing us no favours today. Plus our unlucky injury crisis 😕 I strongly disagree.
The officials were awful but in no way did they affect the course of the game (apart from allow us to actually score a goal).
I also agree about the unlucky injury crisis. To be successful, you need to assemble a squad that can get the job done and cope with the inevitable injuries that happen during the season.
