How is Oztumer missed, would suggest he has had one good game this season. Getting the impression he has not recovered fully from covid, but could be wrong.
Would like to have seen Daly on sooner.
Ayunga had a very good first half, if that chip had gone in we would have been screaming at our screens. He seems to be improving with game time.
Am thinking every time recently we have changed the defensive formation late in the game we have conceded.
Assume Day out for three games, wonder how long till Grant and Rodman fit again.

What a f'ing s*** sandwich...I dont mind if we get stuffed.. but from 2-0 up!!..its always the hope that kills you! Still top of the bottom 6 (2 out of 6 chance to stay up if we're better than 4 other crap teams)...more hope killing us there😄 We have to play Swindon & Northampton, only 2 of the bottom 6 around us, these really are 6 pointers in our final 11 games.

Think we missed Rodman tonight, he links up well with Westbrooke ,who I feel was a little lost. With the exception of his goal,Upson was poor.He was at fault for the 1st goal, when he headed weakly straight to the scorer, and another poor header set them on the way to the second goal. Kilgour once again has cost us a critical goal and has been at fault for far too many goals this season. Once again Hanlan was very poor, and does not have any sort of partnership with Ayunga, who was awesome in the 1st half The free kick that was given for Charltons second goal was a joke, made even worse by the piss poor defending when it was taken.

Mini messi is said to be showing signs of long covid.

Then you wake up the morning after and as your brain and memory slowly begin to more or less work, you think,
'uhhhh lost'!
'Uhhhhhhh 2 0 up'!

Opportunity missed such as signing Experienced striker Brett Pittman even now Swindon might be willing to off load in May and he would be the perfect foil for Ayunga. Must admit feel we could sale Hanlan. Our run is worrying with must wins required against Swindon Northampton and probably Plymouth maybe complete the double over Lincoln who appear to be on the slide.

It’s frustrating Harry, we could all see this despite our DoF being condescending about this point of view in an interview

Have there been times this season when you feel we have ticked over as a footballing side? If so, when and what was the reason for it? I'm enjoying learning! i wouldn’t say it’s been really bad in terms of playing football all season, in patches we have ticked over. To answer your question, the Shrewsbury game two weeks back was good from a footballing perspective. There is some talk in this thread about so much press we run out of steam late on, and that was so noticeable yesterday, the first half hustle we looked good, the energyless last 30 minutes of the game we were anonymous. But in the Shrewsbury game we pressed more in second half with the lead, early on we just kept a good shape and played ourselves into the game. Lincoln away, or the first half of donny away are in my memory as good footballing performances. When to expend the energy? Early on, get advantage and cling on at end? Keep it tight for 70 minutes and look for explosive finish? It’s more stark in boxing isn’t it, the rumble in the jungle the classic example. Ali was expected to lose, but came with game plan of surviving till Foreman’s energy was gone. He even said in foreman’s ear in fifth round ‘is that all you got joe?’ Foreman remembers thinking, well, yeah. Within a round later he had lost. Meanwhile Iron Mike said everyone has a plan, but it goes out the window when you get punched in the face. Joey made some changes yesterday to shore up the point, but the team got hit before the plan could settle in. Charlton’ s plan may have been the big finish approach, bringing on fragile but best player for last 20, Joey sensibly reacting to that in way Ben Garner never did. But got punched in the face. I don’t know if you are seriously enjoying me warble on my philosophy or having a laugh Phil, but what I am saying really is our performances recently are improved in many regards, but it needs a bit more playmaking, roaming playmaker, going looking for ball, slipping in pocket of space and asking for it to feet. And that I like the formation yesterday, but that it might have been better yesterday with a more experienced spine. we should be reshaping our opinions all the time as we get more knowledge. We have played all season without much cutting edge up front and far too many naff mistakes at back. Jonah wasn’t always fit, but Hanlon has played ahead of him a lot in a one up, are we wondering now if that was for the best or part of the problem?

I was gutted for the players as I do think they made a massive effort.
I don't want to go into the last 4 games hearing JB say 'we've got 4 cup finals...', he is right to criticise the standards if professionals are not ready to come on as sub, but then, aren't these players sub for a reason? It is pathetic, especially late in the game when subs are used.
McCormick was everywhere, Ayunga was causing huge problems first half, still hasn't scored under Barton.
Hanlan needs to be dropped, he loses the ball and goes down too easily, he is not strong enough on the ball and has 1 goal in 15. Give Daly a chance with Ayunga at Plymouth.
We miss Day again for Saturday.
I do believe though that Charlton played well and as ever, are allowed to come back. We can't complain at being 2-0 up, no way can we reasonably say it should have been 4, because it doesn't always work like that. We missed better chances than Upsons which was a strange goal.
Their first was hardly avoidable, the 2nd was not a free kick, so when they equalised it was harsh, but we didn't cause them enough problems 2nd half.
Madley was poor. Enough said there.
I'm not saying I would have taken that at the start, but scoring 2 away from home is an improvement, but Saturday is crucial now. It's any 4 from 6. We have to start winning away.

Just winning, anywhere, will be good. Got bad vibes about this season. It’s been pillar to post stuff and we have been bloody embarrassing as a club

We still have to play - Plymouth, Swindon, Sunderland, Ipswich, Doncaster, Northampton, Lincoln, MK Dons, Portsmouth, Crewe and Blackpool.
The way this season has gone, not one game can we predict any points are going to come from, we could beat Sunderland and lose to Swindon.
It really is a game at a time and see who turns up on the day and who are interested in winning a game of football and for the shirt.
We could pick 11 from this forum and all of us would die for the chance to keep us in this division, that is now vital that we do so.
