3 mistakes in starting line up for me. Day in. Ehmer in and back as captain. No two strikers up front. Westbrooke starts and if his dead ball deliveries are left wanting, offers little in the battle to get the ball back and goes missing in open play. For me, I retract the 1-0 prediction and place us clearly with daylight two goal defeat.... Day is our 2nd best GK imo o2o2b. I'm not surprised it's one upfront,we'll crowd midfield then. Disagree, bas. I like both, but kicking apart prefer JVS. JVS has made no goalkeeping error in last 2 matches, and at least comes off his line when a ball enters 6 yard box. If we concede again with a set piece diagonal ball just behind our defence, everyone looking at each other and no marking, its Groundhog Day! Crowding midfield hasn't worked all season. Playing a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 hasn't worked since Bodin departure! I really hope I'm wrong, but totally uninspired by the starting line up although nice to see Walker and Martinez on the bench! COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS...

I'm concerned we'll lose the midfield battle and Hull will create chances.
I would guess we need 2 goals to have any chance of a point or 3.
Come on Rovers, give em a game!

I would point to a mis**t clearance by JVF,that led to McCormicks 2nd yellow.A decent clearance would of seen no sending off.Obviously not all his fault. Also,I think Day may of got down and saved the goal. I know "footballs a funny old game" but I too am struggling to believe today. Come on Rovers!

Joe Day returns to the fold after missing Tuesday’s game at Burton through concussion. On the bench, there’s a spot for Pablo Martinez, who spent a period of this season on loan at Oxford City.
Hull City: Matt Ingram, Lewie Coyle (c), Callum Elder, Reece Burke, Mallik Wilks, George Honeyman, Alfie Jones, Gavin Whyte, Alfie Jones, Gavin Whyte, Jacob Greaves, Josh Magennis, Greg Docherty. Subs: George Long, Tom Eaves. Josh Emmanuel, Regan Slater, Keane Lewis-Potter, Dan Crowley, Andy Smith
Rovers: Joe Day, Luke Leahy, Josh Grant, Max Ehmer ©, Zain Westbrooke, Brandon Hanlan, Sam Nicholson, Alfie Kilgour, Cian Harries, Alex Rodman, George Williams. Subs: Jordi van Stappershoef, Ed Upson, James Daly, Jonah Ayunga, Jack Baldwin, Zain Walker, Pablo Martinez

Barton has kept his team talk simple.
'Just get out there and attack them'.

Looks like Rodman is playing centre-mid with Grant.

So the commentator hadn't spotted we were down to ten men when Hull scored. Grant off. Why the f**k was 'Edson' not ready to come on?

Like a moth to a light, I’m drawn to check out the match thread even though I expect nothing but a loss. This squad is just not good enough

Superb 'New manager bounce'.
As we stand right now we are on course for the 3rd defeat in Barton's first 4 games.
Still over half of this game left though.
