Could not fathom the tactics. ... First half 4 4 2 with a diamond in middle with Ogogo playing at the front of the diamond. Sercs paying most if the half behind Kelly In summary midfield non existent. Oh Rodman on the pitch.
Second half, was it 3 5 2, 4 4 2 or just 10 players standing on the pitch. No movement, little width, no pace.
No point in blaming front two as no service.
Oddly, the last substitution worked in that Leahy scored, and we were fooled for a little while we had a team out there.

I don't often agree with Bambi but we sure were pathetic and lucky to still be in the draw tomorrow. Little was our poorest performer but Victor not far behind. JCH tried his best but clearly not match fit. Why do we struggle against non league sides at least under Trolls we managed cup runs. The most frustrating thing about it is that our players are capable of running rings around those oafs, but we just didn't prepare. They came with a plan, we let them execute it. Now that the manager has seen them, if he was paying any attention at all, we'll win the replay easily. Here's one tip for him as well; the goal came from a low hard cross after turning their defenders, not from messing around playing the ball around on the edge of the box for 2 minutes and then, eventually, floating a slow cross over that's easy to defend. Doubt our manager will learn though.

Just got back!
Oh dear. Oh deary dear.
Mr GC, we witnessed a poor performance again.
It's the stuff of dreams, the fa cup....the dream was for Brom who thoroughly deserved their draw, and probably were the better team on the day.
But why oh why are so many of our players not turning up, making individual poor decisions, can't get basics right?
4-4-2 I thought was not working for most the match, most of our possession was in our own half between Craig and Kilgore....to me to you, to me to you look up and hoof....lose possession. Little (for me ) had a shocker, we really miss Josh Hare. Although helped set up our goal, when for once he got his head down and went past his man, surely he was doing Rodman's job?!
Rodman, poor. Anonymous first half, couldn't cross past first defender in second.
Tyler and Victor ineffective, don't think they linked up once, and it wasn't until second half we had shot on target.
In possession, no one was making runs. If we got the ball over the half way line, we looked to turn back....no creativity, no runs, statuelike, lethargic, slow tempo attack, looks like no one wanted the ball.... maybe slightly harsh but that's how it appeared.....Sercs tried, played several roles swapping sides, Abu got stuck in, unfortunately when he won the ball, nothing came of it....Upson very more out the game than in, you can't attribute the poor form of midfield to Ollie today. Rather, give credit to Bromley that got the basics right....man marked us, looked physically stronger, made the first ball count and more often won the second too.
For our goal, Little got one thing right, got behind defence and set Sercs shot up... great sub by GC to get Luke to simply finish from close range, but why aren't we seeing more of this?
For their goal, we appeared to miss Tom Davies who would surely have dealt with the high ball into the box? Lively Alfie (whom by his own standards had off day and was booked quite rightly after lenient ref) couldn't get there and after flap from Keeper (did he lose it in the sun?) and clear off the line, they bundled it over from close range .... poor goal to concede, from a set piece but no less than what Bromley deserved...
And to top the lot, Nichols got his game. Again. And managed to do f all. Again. Why is he still in squad when for 2.5 years he's been sh!te?
Why not blood a youngster for last 20 mins in attack?
Why persist with 442 when surely Rollin in back 3 and keeping our strong format of 352 is more consistent? That's why I thought Rollin was in and around the squad?
Positives....decent ref....nice to see jch back, hope he can keep fit.
Nice to see Luke Leahy score as he has come close in past.
Can't blame Ollie Clarke.
We got in cheaply.
And important to say, Bolton apart, we aren't playing our best and still manage to get away with not losing....is it the luck of the Irish?

Did Bromley play an ineligible player ?
Sub Adrian Clifton number 17 went off injured was not named in the original squad in the official press team sheet ? This was mentioned during the BBBC radio Bristol commentary.
Who do we fancy in the next Round Maldon & Tiptree ?

Not aware at the time, Hb.
Made little difference anyway, the technical details make no real impact on our form, which concerns me more.
It comes to something when you find The Beat, Hands Off She's Mine at half time is more memorable than the 80 odd minutes of cr@p I just witnessed....so I really paid a tenner for some decent music and about 5-10 mins of entertainment!

Who do we fancy in the next Round Maldon & Tiptree ? Ha. Their entire team seemed plagued with injuries, they were literally falling down off the ball with no contact whilst it was 0-0, but for some odd reason they all felt a lot better the moment they went 1-0 down. Back to the point. They deserve another crack at getting to the next round, whether they made a mistake on the team sheet or not. It would be a disgrace to rob them of the opportunity on a technicality.

In the time that I have supported Rovers we have had a few good cup runs, but these have been far outweighed by some absolute shockers. In that time the club have a variety of club owners, board members, managers and players, but the results have largely been the same . . . and they seem to have got worse and worse. Even the great Gerry Francis wasn't exempt.

GC post match comments seem to support most the ideas here..
Great he's being honest.
Ok he said we didn't start the match well (because of the emotions and the day etc), but that's a fair comment.
Also a fair comment was taking unnecessary risk on JCH completing 40 mins without injury or recourse.
But..... Whom takes the responsibility of that? Great you admit that you make mistake, that's admirable and credit given, but why does it take 60-70 mins to change that?
(And before anyone says well easy to say with hindsight, I say this happens alot... Bolton Pompey Accy?).
And when GC chose to make a change, why is TN any more effective than an ineffective attacker in TM or VA?, Why couldn't there be a different choice on bench like Hargreaves, Tomlinson or Warwick??

Truth is there is not much difference in quality between most league one teams and the top half of the national league. The championship is like a different planet but most of league one,two and the national league are about equal in my view.

Yep, there were a fair number going down, but one of them was dead legged possibly on purpose by a Rovers player and was subbed and no team would feign injuries to go to only 10 men on the pitch. Agree they deserve a second chance, but we fans do not deserve a midweek trip to S London on a cold autumn night.

Interesting post match comment by GC saying we could do without another match ?
Surely we could do with loads more games not only in the FA Cup to make money but also the Leasing.com trophy to ensure a Wembley appearance.
The more revenue earned from progressing in the FA Cup would help fund new signings come January.

Can't be much motivation for a team who can see terraces closed because nobody is prepared to watch such dire football even at half price !
