Without JCH we would be relegated already. Tactically clueless. Bradford are a better team than us, all apart from the fact that we have a monster playing as a centre forward. Nichols got muscled out of a tackle after 5 mins and barely looked interested after that. He needs someone to find the right things to say to him to get some fire in his belly. Sadly we have back the Nichols that we suffered under the last manager It'll take a huge effort to get relegated from here, probably 2 more points will do it, then we have the big problem, is there anyone in the club who can get us sorted for next season, or will it be just like when Higgs was running the show where we stumble along until eventually we go down. Unless we bring in new people to run the football side of things that's exactly what will happen.

Just got back..
Again, what a lovely day at the Mem.... again we play poorly, no width, movement, passing or creativity. Sometimes our defending was poor too.
I thought Bradford were unlucky not to get something out of the match, they're dusted bye bye, and they'll have to wait until at least 2021 to beat us at our place in the league for a historic victory. Amazing stat, that!
Ok...two major things have changed since Xmas which have been fundamental in our survival of this division. GC appointment, and JCH acquisition.
If those two things never happened, I'm confident we would have lost today and almost certainly have been relegated. We have been ably supported by match winning performances from Bonham, THD, Ollie and Locks along the way, with Ollie's goals majorly important contributions but again for me today summed up with alot of huff and puff but ultimately no end product.
Ogogogogo had a brilliant second half. A very decent game today.
But not convinced by Upson, Rodman, Nichols, Sercombe (although his corner delivered the first goal), THD (although his delivery led to the winner)....
But. JCH. He's the business. And deserved m o m and tbh, a saviour of our place in this division. We won't be able to keep hold of him. Hard to remember a striker hitting ground running from the start?
11 in 11? This is the best centre forward we've had for years. Absolute quality.
Payne who? Bennett who?
Well done the board for the two appointments of GC and subsequently funding JCH..

This has a real "Big Game" feel to it and fitting of the much overused "must win" phrase. On paper, we really should win but you can bet Bradford will be well up to it. I predict a tight game and a nailbiting 2-1 win to the Gas! UTG! Apart from the score, your prediction was pretty much spit on, jnz..

I have a feeling that this game will define our season... a nail-biting ugly win will do just fine. Yes - that's the one. Defence: Shakey. Midfield: Clueless, slow, lacking creativity and width. Again. Fair play Ollie - well taken goal. Attack: 13 year old Nilgoals easily pushed off the ball by grown-ups. Never threatened, never in a dangerous position. What is the point FFS? Without J CH we'd be playing Div 2 football next year. We absolutely stole that. I said I'd take an ugly win. Crikey. That was an Angela Merkel with her kit off performance.

Wrong Clarke there, KP! I know it's confusing with 3 of them on the pitch!

As a club whether we stay up or not, drastic surgery needed.Certainly lacking quality on the pitch and surely it can't go on much longer the lack of any progress off the pitch with the promised new training complex mothballed and the promised Mem redevelopment following UWE's demise,no-where to be seen. The'Can't tell you what is happening due to a confidentiality clause' nonsense no longer fools even the Rose Tinters and a Statement of intent, however painful must surely be forthcoming next month.

To be fair to Liam, he took a shot early and caught the goalie flat footed so all he could do was push the ball around the post, then placed a corner exactly where a big centre forward wants it, a kind of double assist. I think that all this manager has done is be jolly and tell the players he's one of them and they are good enough, that only goes so far. I've not seen him reacting to things happening during a game and changing things around to any great effect. I'll stand by what I've been saying all along, had we signed JCH instead of Payne we would still have the same manager that we started the season with and would be almost but not quite in touching distance of the play offs. THD is all over the place. His first responsibility is to get his positioning correct, he doesn't do that. He's young and has potential, but we aren't good enough to be giving on the job training to a player this raw.

Nilgoals does not, as far as I am aware, possess ability in the goal-scoring Department. He lacks physical presence. He lacks speed. And (rather obviously after 74 appearences and just 1 league goal from open play) an understanding of how to score a "goal".

Outplayed by a team all but relegated and still the happy clappers are jumping up and down and getting excited. We got out of jail today. Before today Bradford had managed 1 goal in their last 5 games. Today we were lucky it was only 2. We have major problems.

But you're not far off, imo. As regards to changing things, I look at the bench and not much change as it's same personnel. Changing things in a game is difficult, as he sets his stall up and sticks with it.... sometimes it works as it did today, sometimes it doesn't as in Doncaster.... The mitigation is it isn't his players. Every manager has their limits, maybe GC has limits to this division. That's still an improvement on DC whom was willing to take us down to prove a point, and shamefully some of our fans would've accepted that(?) We are far better because of GC. Hard to beat. Get the scoring going the other end and who knows? GC (to me) has earned the right to explore this option, and for the first time, our fan base is pretty much unified because I can't see or hear anyone not on the same Gas hymsheet..
