Well today I completed a 10km (6 mile) run despite advancing years and a gammy knee but my determination to finish the job got me through. The automatic promotion finishing line is in sight and I expect no less commitment for the lads today If we get that commitment then, win or lose, most Gasheads will be happy chappies as Northampton have proven they are top of the pack in League 2 this season. However, Northhampton have been on a bit of a speed wobble lately and I think we can take advantage of that. I'm going 2-1 Gas!! Safe travels Gasheads and those going to the beamback at the Mem have a great day. COYB!!!

It really is the time of the season when we need to be kicking on, and I think that we will today. But as Jeff has said, the most important thing is the togetherness of the squad, and I think that the manager has done wonders in that department.
I'm going for a win, with everything crossed.

They're definitely going to score, I really can't see us keeping a clean sheet.
However I too have a gut feeling we're going to turn up today.
2-2 for me. JJ obviously on the scoresheet...

providing we don't concede a stupid early goal, then i get the feeling it's a tight win and a few cards flying around, with a red on the home team as a result of B[razil]ristol Rovers possesion play

Win,lose or draw I just hope we don't do a Pompey and actually turn up this time.
We are more than capable of giving them something to think about.

I want to see this team Mildy, Leadbitter, Lockyer, macca, browner Bodin, o.clarke, lines, montano (still recon lennie will get a start first) Taylor Gaffney
Attack will be the best form of defence I think ollie Clarke will be given the job of marking the toole. Lines can't tackle and lennie is not agile enough.

Will we go back to 3-5-2 or stay 4-4-2. We can but guess, would not be surprised to see Clarke J back and even Parkes. Which would mean Monty and Leads on the bench. But there again I expect we will all see a surprise in the line up.

I I've been informed that our players are on a decent bonus for getting automatic promotion and they also have an all expenses Las Vegas holiday. While I fully expect the boys to do their jobs in anycase, I think it's fantastic that they have the extra and added initiative, to bust a gut or, in Lee Mansells case, bust a nut lol. Before anyone gets the arse hole, Nick Higgs gave the lads a break in Magaluf for last seasons promotion so I am not knocking him, not this time anyway

Hi John, isn't it bloody lovely to actually feel good about the chances of winning now. I have really very much enjoyed my match day experience, the last 3 home games that I have been to. The buzz amongst the fans, the return of many longtime friends, from Kingswood and the positivity that surrounds us right now is so lovely to be a part of. I think that we have always seemed to do better when we play teams that actually play on the deck football. My only concern is that, when we played them at home, they were obviously well versed in professionally getting fouls and taking their sweet time when they are ahead. They were also a physically big side and it was noticeable when looking at our team. I think we will need to be man marking at set pieces and I really hope that JJOT, if he plays, is not allowed the space to hit one of his trademark goals. I expect a draw at the least. We are a very different side to the one that played them at the Mem, early in the season UTG

One of the upshots of our run this season (and I remember posting something quite similar last season as well) is the positivity that it brings to the club, from the top to bottom. The energising effect is tangible both on the pitch and the terraces, and whatever happens in the next few weeks we can always bank that feeling for next term. I think that you're correct when you identify JJOT as a danger to us today. He'll want to do well for several reasons, but one must be the thought that he's playing against one of his former clubs, and what occured here at the time. So bearing in mind how dangerous he can be at set-pieces, I think that the choice of central defenders is critical for us. We simply cannot afford for anyone to go walkabout, or ''switch off.'' Like you I expect a draw at least, but if the manager selects the right starting XI and the tactics to go with it . . . then who knows, eh?

Hope I am not going to be a jinx but I am back in the UK. Looks like it will have to be gas player for me for the rest of the season as every game looks to be a sell out, very good news for the club. It was also wonderful to see so many youngsters in Orlando wearing the famous quarters. UTG and lets do this.

Like you I expect a draw at least, but if the manager selects the right starting XI and the tactics to go with it . . . then who knows, eh? You know, I can only comment from my own experiences when it comes to much I say and this is the same when it comes to JJOT. I know that it genuinely took the loss of my immediate family and a spiralling drink & illegals habit, that got me to rock bottom. I think one of the real truisms, that one can generalise on, is that 1) You do hit that rock bottom and 2) You MUST want to change. From what I have seen, in my following up on him is that he certainly was left in no doubt that his football career could have been over and at what is a fairly young age. Unlike many, I don't harbor any bad feeling towards him and, if anything, I lean to being more indifferent to him. Chris Wilder had him out of the squad and left him no way out, not unless he genuinely for his act together. Reading the match reports on the Cobblers, he has been a standout player and the fans have warmed to him. I always felt that he could have been on of the few players that could have gone onto better himself, if we had managed to get promotion but we had an awful team and it was evident that he was just as frustrated at his team mates as he was with his situation in general. The comment he made about retiring if we got relegated and that we had the players, good enough to stay up, that showed me he was both frustrated & angry at himself but the team as a collective. Playing devils advocate for one moment, we near enough begged our Chair and manager, to bring JJOT in. John Ward even publicly said that we could have possibly got 3 other players if we stopped pursuing him. He scored 17 goals & in a season where we had an awful side which lacked any firepower and seemingly, any desire. I could pick out a fair few, in that awful season, who just looked like they could not be arsed to put themselves on the line. I can actually see why JJOT was angry but it was foolhardy and maybe even naive that he made certain comments, to media types and those who will often misrepresent what has been said. The final insult was an interview that was actually done around a month prior to that Mansfield game. I think that both he and John Ward were scapegoated and that was made very easy in JJOT case. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, I wish we had 11 like JJOT that season. At least he showed some fight and passion. 17 goals and not a striker ! Sorry for waffling on John but it irks me when I see some of the plainly daft stuff that can turn up on social media. I am going for. 1-3 Rovers win. Gut feel tells me that the cobblers will go for the win in style and we will have plenty of chances because of that UTG

No McBurnie - injured, or kept back for other games? If he doesn't even get on our bench, then I could see him getting recalled. I hope not as he will be needed - especially if we end up in the play offs I would have thought.

Just got a reply and McBurnie has tonsillitis.
