Well done Gas. Home record jinx perhaps coming to an end with two wins on the bounce? Hopefully!

Well done Rovers. I couldn't make it today and it sounded laboured on the radio, hard working performance and well done MT. Here's to a Christmas period that matches last year.

21 points clear of the bottom 2, and outside the playoffs at the moment by goal difference. This has the makings of a good season at the moment.

York got everything they deserved. They were guilty of cynical time wasting from the very start of the second half. An injury time winner was justice done.

You'd like to think that would a good win for team's confidence. Resilient enough to launch late comebacks - that's a good sign.
And at this stage surely 'same old story' doesn't refer to our strikers ability to put the ball in the net (which must be up there in terms of strike rates in the League) but more to our tendency to concede the first goal of the game rather too often.

Time wasting, feigning injury, conning yet another dreadful referee, long journey home empty handed is exactly what they deserve. One for the stattos, fastest Rovers' goal by a substitute?

But it was poetic that we scored in injury time after their keeper's blatant time wasting in the 2nd half Yes he threw himself on the floor, and I've been his harshest critic for doing that, but York players did it for 91 minutes, slightest touch from behind and over they went, and the sorry excuse for a referee bought it every single time. This is what does people's heads in, inconsistent decisions.

York do what most other 4th division teams do. Taylor got booked for simulation, so we can hardly claim the whole moral argument.
I thought York were awful going forward. I mean, we were comfortable most the game at the back. Defensively though, I thought they (man)handled us pretty well. I thought their left back number 3, and Boyle number 31 were competent.
We struggled to get past them on the flanks first half.
York are a physically dominant team, we really have to find more endeavour to break teams like these down.
I thought Parkes / Locks were the best pairing of the team. I'm big fan of team pairings and this blend works well against big physical teams. Only criticism was the goal as fella found too much space in our box.
Also, great performance from our mid duo. Mansell and Sincs again paired up well.
Paris...I'm sorry, it just wasn't his game. Brushed off ball too often, couldn't get past his man, couldn't beat first man, his passes went astray. Why wasn't Montana considered ?
Have to say another great performance from Matty. Never gave up. His strike rate is immense, especially considering he four space behind the defence twice.
Subs def made a difference. DC called right players at right time, and Exeter apart, this team and squad just don't give up! Well done for keeping on pressure and like others have said, York got just deserts for time wasting and play acting. A very hard earned 3points ground out again a big physical team set to make things awkward and frustrating for us.
But we stood that test, and take an ugly 3points onto Daggers. Well done everyone.
Oh....bye bye Nicholls. I'm not sad to see him go, but he acted a complete professional today and wish him well. UptheGas..

I thought the opposite! I thought York looked useful going forwards but an absolute shower at the back, which is why their decision to try to hang on for a point proved disastrous.
Taylor could have had a cup of tea and read the paper in the time he was given between bringing the ball down and finishing for his goal.
I didn't think we were good at all for long periods today, but we kept at our task well and got the result in the end.

Bruce Bannister came on a sub v Manchester United in 1974/75 and equalised with his first touch (also from a free kick) to make it 1-1, which was the final result.

That game was never going to be pretty & winning ugly is what's required sometimes.
Can't see many ordering the DVD! Three home points will do!
Onto Dagenham we go.

We've become or are becoming a very resilient team to play against. It is quite clear teams come prepared to play against us but I think what they aren't able to handle is our ability to completely change the way we play as the game progresses. Our fitness is good and enables us to maintain the pressure throughout the game which produces the late goals we score, we must have our strongest substitute bench in ages and that didn't include Montano, Lines or Puddy (heh, heh !). Hopefully I'm not getting too much ahead of myself here (I'm a relatively cautious person with regard to predictions) but we've put ourselves into an excellent position to have a crack at getting into the play off positions and who knows how much further . If we can get say four points from our next two away games, it sets itself up fabulously for our next home game in front of a bumper crowd UTG !

Nasty and dangerous, do that in a televised game and you'll get a 3 match ban, do something similar on the Downs and you'll get a punch in the face.

I enjoy us scoring late goals in injury time against teams who blatantly time waste which seriously pished me off against Exeter as we didn't play that way and then conceded in the last minute of injury time
