Watched it on tele. We were absolute sh*te. The worst I've seen Rovers play for a long time. Not a lot from the dugout either. It felt like "Right lads, let's get it out of the way and we get the next cup Saturday off". What a difference a week makes. From the terrific performance and result against Peterborough, to yesterday`s debacle.

Oh FFS, just woke up to this. Sorry, no excuses this is a piss poor result and the players must take responsibility for being outperformed by a team two leagues below them. It will wear off but I'm feeling angry as **** right now. I know the feeling. I couldn't be bothered to turn up (i.e. follow on the Internet) and was mildly horrified when I remembered the game and checked in at 11pm. It sounds like the players approached the game with a similar mindset. The fact that they have previously disposed of Bournemouth and other league teams makes it worse, not better - another reason for why we should have prepared properly and 'professionally disposed' of non-league opponents without fuss or undue consternation.

Try and find some comfort in the fact that the players will struggle to ever play worse than they did yesterday.

Such a disappointing result today.Barton never seems to understand you can't underestimste the opposition whilst our owner ponces around Qatar looking for anybody wearing a replica Rovers shirt or with a St Georges flag with Bristol Rovers splashed all over it. You can't help but feel our priorities aren't where they should be right now. So would you rather have him stick to the corporate hospitality, ignore all the Gasheads and wear a Chelsea shirt rather than publicising Bristol Rovers FC in an area where I doubt many would have ever heard of the Gas. He's entitled to spend his money how he likes and I am sure the Gasheads were pleased he made the effort. I expect he feels the way we do about yesterday's rubbish performance. He may make mistakes and we are still waiting for our stadium, criticise him for that. Not publicising the team and encouraging Gasheads.

We can learn one lesson from this and that is about physicality, Boreham were very physical and a couple were well overweight yet we could not deal with them. Having said that, fair play to them, they did their homework and stopped us from playing, not that we seemed to be doing much of that. Best football ever 😂. That was diabolically bad

Oh deary me .. A stroll in the park for BW. Credit to them, they looked like they wanted it more, took one or two of their chances and deserved to win. All watched on TV. We had a shocker! First ball in atrocious, we couldn't attack the ball in the box, it just didn't fall to us and lack of quality in the final third plus (again) slow start out the traps mean some GasHeads paid a few quid to watch that and be humiliated! Evans, Gibbons (again), Whelan even Scotty couldn't deliver a decent ball from the flanks....when Trev Clarke slipped in a lovely shooting opportunity, Coburn missed it and Aaza fired well wonder - he was poor too. Thomas jittery. Gibson looked lethargic. Gordon.... just didn't look like a defender. Again. Fair enough, they used their research and resources to turn up a result. Really think their Central defenders bossed the game and looked organised.... good luck to them with the draw on Monday and rest of the season. Us!? Holy moly! A Sunday to forget where too many established players didn't turn in a performance to warrant picking next Fri, except maybe Saunders who tried. A bit! Unfair on Coburn, who never stopped trying. First half was abysmal; they looked like they`d all been out on the piss last night. We were completely outmuscled and outthought, and BW looked like scoring every time they attacked. Second half was better, but never really looked like getting one goal back, never mind two. They looked like a team a division above us, not two below.
Some of the tackles they put in were very bad and would have been red card, in the WC. One of their guys kept holding onto players, even grabbing hold of legs, to stop our player moving up the pitch. The ref certainly did not put his stamp on this.

The ref certainly did not put his stamp on this. 🤭 Our player must have been sorely tempted. That guy had hold of his legs and was not letting go EDIT, confession time. When i played Rugby, i had an opposing team member do this to me and i did not hold back, bravo to those who can.

You could see right from the warm up, how they were likely to play. A lot of big, solid players in their side. Their No9 looked like a slightly taller version of Joe Frazier. First half especially, any crosses into the box caused panic amongst our defence. And they got plenty of crosses in. Neither of our full backs could prevent them. A couple of their players were carrying a few extra pounds, and I thought/hoped that they would run out of steam as the game progressed, but alas it wasn`t to be. They`re home to Accrington in the next round. Scant reward for knocking us out.

I am guessing the club could have done with the money but there you go, at least, for some, the magic of the FA cup still lives.

Joey, as usual passing the buck, said in an interview after the game, that there were players out there (referring no doubt to Rovers) that are lucky to be professional footballers, well they do not do the homework, select sides and positions, motivate players, decide on changes and subs etc. There was obviously a person in the technical area lucky to be a professional football manager.

He really said that, again ? That shocks me as this is, very much, his team so he should now be taking responsibility for that. Any chance of a link, please ?

While I agree with your last sentence, are you sure that you're not allowing your distaste for Barton to cloud your judgement on his remarks after the game? Did he mean that they're not good enough and don`t deserve to be professional footballers, or simply that they`re lucky to be getting paid for playing the game, as opposed to having to actually work for a living? Personally, I wouldn`t agree with the first interpretation, but would the second. I wouldn`t ever attempt to guess what`s on Barton`s mind, and for that reason if for no other, I wouldn`t always place the worst possible interpretation on what he says.

"Some of them are fortunate to be professional footballers on that show," Fair enough, Igitur; that`s not a comment that should have been made, nor one that I agree with.

I suppose Barton thinks that he`s giving them a necessary kick up the arse, ( in the same way that he did to Luke Thomas after the Salford game ). Whether it works out for the best, remains to be seen.

Heart on the sleeve manager, rightly pissed off with his players after they lost to a tinpot outfit of unfit porkers, has a few choice words.
If it had been precious Holloway, it would be "Ollie saying it like it is".
Non story.

Hard to disagree with a lot of what he is saying though any criticism if required (and not convinced it is) would be better done face to face in private rather than in public
