No recognised striker - Leon Clarke was a good striker a long, long ago. Collins isn't an out-and-out striker. The team doesn't have sufficient cover in the full-back positions. Sufficient quality in the GK and midfield positions, but not elsewhere. Once the loan players return, then the gaps become even bigger. Its actually quite an unbalanced squad that's lacking in key areas and which is being papered over by the loan market.

Building a squad of players take’s time and money loans help you do this and hopefully JB and Wael will do this over time. I don’t think you want JB to succeed which means you don’t want rovers to either,he’s manager and we are playing some entertaining football which is a pleasure to watch wouldn’t you say? Who’s to say we won’t keep the loan players except EA

Rowden hill has every right to his views without being told he doesn’t want us to succeed. Surely you must see he is making cogent points , ones that will need to be redressed. The loan market is the sadly the 'way of the world' right now. Next season will be the same,so you have try and play it as well as we have this season. I think Rovers have 5 in on loan, with 3 of them regulars,1 an effective now and againer and 1 seldom. The Bantams eg have 6.Their goal scorer yesterday is a loan signing as was one of ours. So many players are temporary these days. Play the loan market well. Quite agree , had a quick look on a stats webpage & it’s only FGR(2) & Exeter City(4) out of the top 7 clubs who have less loans than us. When you consider the quality of our loans & the fact that they regular play, JB & his staff must have a decent knowledge of players available, so I would imagine they will be doing their homework on players available for next season depending on which league we’re in.

On the other hand, stepping up a division is a good moment to reboot. If we miss out on promotion this season it’s not anything to do with how we are purring now, it’s not Rochdales late equaliser that blew it for us but the very slow start. I also levelled the criticism last month it’s not an excellent squad because the number 9 options they tried failed, despite the money involved, Pitman, Clarke, Loft, and the number 10 Collins carried on (for now) his FGR thing of 8 worldies and not enough else. However, the team defied my prediction of a tough March and April for a side without decent starting options at 9 by proving me wrong with brilliant form. The best bit about it, how Finnly and Couts are at the heart of the surge, the flak they took off of so many gasheads in the first few months of the season! There’s a case in point about the quality we have from them now doesn’t show at first when players and team are new. The players should go on Twitter saying “how do you like me now then 😠” 😆

And it is very, very good right now. Again with the with us or against us nonsense, everyone i know is loving the football and atmosphere now but some of us see further than the now and know that there WILL be big change, no matter whether we go up or not. There is no I negativity in asking questions and i see no one is saying we are crap or even close. As a Rovers supporter of over 50 years i am very pleased but i am also keeping one eye on next season. There is nothing at all wrong with this, you can bet the JB will be doing the same or, at least, i would hope he is

But since the turn of the year he has been outstanding & Saturday if it wasn’t for Finley’s wonder strike, I believe he would of deserved MOM. You can see why he was held in such high regard by Sheffield United fans for his time spent with them, & in fact a few of their fans were saying on one of our facebook pages that they were going to attend our away game at Scunthorpe to watch him play.

At this stage of the season it’s all about getting the wins and 3 points when we play. Of course it would be better if some players were ours but if we can loan these players and use them to do well it’s not a real problem. When they play they all have the blue and white quarters. And perhaps JB has some very good contacts into higher league academies high will help us in the future. Loans, no problem so long as they’re as good as the ones we’ve had this season.👍 UTG!

In Finley couts and Anderton we signed experienced heads much loved by fans they played for, and trusted by managers as captains. The pre season punditry said as much, and now, as we are very much in frame for promotion, that passion and experience is proven on the field and the pundits proved right. Couts should tweet, do you like me now then? With a wink 😉 to show what he means. if we don’t go up it’s because we don’t start with a decent number nine, because we don’t really have one we can trust to start, and we got on the run just a tad too late, which we can point to Joey a bit for if you recall the disasters with back 3 before success of back 4, and the wild player rotations in early months.
