I've not missed the point, and I understand that there isn't joy at the moment for a few people. However, I thought that Jeff was suggesting that it would be nice to enjoy discussing a good, hard fought for, result, without the matchday thread being derailed by anti-Barton mutterings, and that was where my response was aimed. Where you said 'let's just enjoy the football' I took it to mean everyone, not just those who feel they can/should etc No, not at all, but I guess those who aren't enjoying it at the moment aren't watching - which is fair enough, why would they want to.

I'm not sure if you've asked a question there, but in case you have I'll give one answer - out of interest, and in view of the fact that many of the players/people will still be here post-JB

Bath Gas, don't let the miseries who hate when we win get you down.
Another deserved win today. Great stuff.

Our goal. Was it Anderson that won the header that led to Collins nodding it in? Very brave. One of those moments that you know you'll probably get to the ball first and then get belted,in this case by their GK. Also,Jon Anderton did'nt let anyone down again today. Harvey Saunders was the player that on setting up AC to nod the ball home, got clattered by Walsalls GK. Brave effort, that played a part in our 3 points. . A good substitution.

Just can't keep your word, it seems I didn't think our exchange was classed as you being a misery - you were just clarifying as to what I meant. UTG

If Collins hadn't have been on hand to nod the ball home, would the referee have had to award a penalty for the foul on Saunders and perhaps book the keeper? If so, would he have had the bottle to do the right thing?

And I thought that Connolly and Taylor looked solid and assured in the centre of defence. Only one game, but promising. If we can get the defence sorted out, we have a decent shout of the play offs.

I'll wager that you would have a very different attitude if it were a female relation or friend of yours that he stands accused of attacking. Massive double standards. Shameful in fact. I'm amazed that you aren't into religion, as you seem to thrive on passing judgement on people. You'd be a shoe-in for the job at the pearly gates. All rather ironic from the person who's forum name pays tribute to a musician who was known for cavorting with under age girls (to put a polite turn of phrase to it). To be fair, he did warn them. "You shouldn`t mess with me..I`ll ruin everything you are...."

Decent attendance at the Mem today. 8000? Walsall competitive (I'll be nice). We maybe about to be grateful we have two decent GKs,Belly ended the game injured, could'nt take a goal kick. Luke Thomas.Gave everything and played very well.Great stuff from player and manager because now we have a second tier standard player! Competitive?? I thought they were abysmal. At no time did they look like they had one more player on the pitch than us. Even against our usually accomodating defence, they never looked like scoring. Going into the final stages of the game, I was confident that if we could fashion and take one chance, we`d have the three points. Was very very happy, when we did just that. Hope Belshaw not too badly injured. Been our player of the season so far, i m o. Time to make a start on a few cold ones from the fridge, methinks.
I agree, they posed no threat at all and looked determined to give as good as they got on the niggly gamesmanship front, if that can be called competitive. Their manager was an ex teammate of Barton's at Burnley so that's probably why we had two teams in Barton's image out there today.

Chaps,my "competitive " comment was just being "nice" to them,as it was a quick post .I was hinting at what CPB mentioned, the niggly fouls etc. They look a team struggling.I thought at times they tried to pass it around to take advantage of their extra man (55% possession) ,but did'nt create chances. Having Whealan back and hopefully Finley would imo help our defence AT.Credit to our ten men defensive play yesterday, albeit against a poor attack,we did keep our 6th clean sheet. We had to be on our toes. Think our goal difference is now -2.

Why do certain posters feel it necessary to come on here telling us that they are not attending because of JB?
Telling us how righteous they are and those that attend are sinners.
If you don’t want to attend that is your choice, but don’t tell me and others what we should and shouldn’t do with our time/money.
Some posters sound like the bible bashing bloke who used to stand in Broadmead, telling us that we are all sinners and if we wanted to go to gods kingdom we must repent!!!

You can actually stop their posts appearing in the settings I believe.. or just not bother reading it as you have a pretty good idea of what the post contains

As with many if not all of us choosing to stay away, whereas I can understand how some may view it as grabbing the moral high ground, it is not as straightforward as that. I cannot see any preaching only pain in not attending games and witnessing the family image of the club being eroded. I most certainly would not get on a soapbox and sermonise.

I'd find it easier to avoid if the anti JB stuff was in one thread.
