I suspect Finlay and Whelan will soon get a game.

James or Anssi? A goalkeeping conundrum for Joe. James will play today,I think we can be sure of that. I think he's done a great job for Rovers! When was the last time we had two good GKs plus a good young one coming along? James or Anssi,I have confidence in both. There is no debate in my mind. James Belshaw is our number one goalkeeper and he has been simply outstanding all year long.
Today he was first class, and thoroughly deserved his Man Of The Match award.
If it was not for James Belshaw we would have lost this game 3-0 and the conversation this evening would be very different.
Hartlepool deserved to win this game comfortably, we had no right to take all three points today. For 80 minutes we witnessed a disjointed, flat performance. We looked like a group of strangers, very much like the early part of the season. It was very much looking like yet another draw, but this team have something about them and keep fighting to the end.
Two late goals and we all go home with smiles on our faces. Exactly what we needed today. Poor performance but I do not care. We have another three points and the long climb up the table has begun.
UTG.
James was excellent today, agreed. Right now he's our number 1. The competition for the GK position is good news!

Yes, I think we are on the up, at least I hope so and tbh it wouldn’t take much, compared to the last two years, to be ‘on the up’. 2020 and 2021 have been awful years. Depending on what you mean when you say “must win”. To carry on where we are in lower mid table no it’s not a must win game and if we lose we’ll just meander around where we are. But if we have aspirations to threaten the play off places or even third place and have a crack at promotion then I’d say it was a must win game. If we want to do that we must start winning and keep winning to close the gap that has grown in the first half. No excuses, we need to win if play offs are a serious challenge. Imo of course. 😉 UTG! Yes,I see your point Wareham, but eg if we draw 0 0 today, but with sure signs of good form, then win our next 2 games, that's lovely. Looks like it was the other way round! Good result, poor performance but I’ll settle for that. Well done JB and the team, moved up a couple of places. Now we need to win the next couple as well and build some momentum. Be good to get Finley and perhaps Whelan back in midfield. UTG!

Was that game sponsored by Dick Turpin? Absolute daylight robbery, but hey ho...it evens itself out over a season.
Belshaw superb yet again.
Anthony Evans...if anyone has any influence whatsoever with the owner, please could you get him (Wael) to ensure Anthony signs a new contract? At least if he then goes, we get money for him. He's WAY too good for this division.

We were shockingly poor and had Belly and Collins to thank for stealing a win.

I guess his training and preparation played a part. But I don’t demand you agree with me. 😉 UTG!

Had to expect under par performance to be fair, when sides come back from these lay offs its typical.

Had to expect under par performance to be fair, when sides come back from these lay offs its typical. Hartlepool were impressive the way they pressed and pressed all over the pitch. We had too many flair players in the midfield and could have done with a Whelan or Finlay to hunt the ball down and break up Hartlepool. Also, I think our midfield need to get used to having a strong, fast target man and get closer to him to feed off his knockdowns etc.

Hopefully, all that will change.
