We have played Peterborough 45 times, W14, D15 & L16, We have won 4-0 & 4-1 and lost 5-2, 5-4 & 4-1. We last beat them away on the 25th Feb 2006 1-2 in league two. Peterborough were formed in 1934 and play at London road which has a capacity of 15,314. Peterborough United are nicknamed "The Posh", a moniker coined in 1921, after Pat Tirrell, manager of Fletton United, was reported to say he was "Looking for posh players for a posh new team". When Fletton United looked to join the Southern League in 1923 they added Peterborough to their name to form Peterborough & Fletton United, in an attempt to gain the backing of businesses in Peterborough. Peterborough & Fletton United went bankrupt in October 1932 so the current club is the third to be known as The Posh. However, the term "posh" was used as a derogatory term for the club by the press. According to the Football Fans Census, Cambridge United were considered to be the club's main rival. Their manager is Darren Ferguson who is in his 3rd spell with the posh. Also their u18's manager is Jamal Campbell-Ryce who scored a wonder goal and was clapped by Gas fans when he was subbed at the end. Along with Ferguson, Barry Fry is their other big notable manager with nearly 1000 games between them. Highest Transfer Fee Received- a fee around £7m (rising to £10m) from Brentford for Ivan Toney, August 2020 Highest Transfer Fee Paid – A fee exceeding £1.25m to Bristol City for Mo Eisa, June 2019. A tenuous yet curious link to Bristol Rovers. A former girlfriend of mine whose grandad was Mr Posh, Patrick Nevin McAlpin. ‘He used to lead the team out ringing his bell to the sound of The Post Horn Gallop and would then take his perch behind the goal with Posh supporters stirring them to cheer his beloved team to victory. When Posh scored he would leap to his feet and ring his bell with the crowd naturally responding. During the many famous FA Cup matches that Posh were involved in during the 50’s Nevin, as Mr. Posh, could be seen on the platform greeting thousands of Posh fans travelling by special trains to away cup ties. On 26th January 1957, on one of the special trains which were carrying supporters to Huddersfield Mr Posh could also be found on the front of the engine!’ (Src: www.theposhtrust.co.uk/museum/mr-posh)Nevins daughter married a Cureton, that Cureton had a brother whose wife gave birth to a son, Jamie. Jamie Cureton went on to make 176 appearances for Bristol Rovers.

Oliver Norburn , captain of posh, never saw that happening Think he was Captain at Shrewsbury too . Looked like he was destined to semi pro/NL after Plymouth got rid, guess he had a huge change of thought and acted. Honestly had to look up if this was the same player

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, but Ellis Harrison has signed for Fleetwood. That's another rumour quashed.

Full time City 0 Fulham 1. Just 7300 in attendance !! All championship clash Noticed that too and SL surely will not put up with that. Has to be a lowest attendance for a league game in this league for them, no ?

Poor 1st half. Understrength Rovers 2nd best against the Championship Strugglers, and looking predictably vulnerable at the back, but working hard and are still in the game
Belly poor for the goal, otherwise most of them playing to form with Evans offering the only hints of sparkle
Best hope is probably for Fatty Pitman to come on and score a late one
Rovers trying to play but the gulf in ranking has shown throughout
Coutts took the pen well against his old club. Another upside no Joeybag
